Now that Hallowe’en is over and we’re on the countdown to Christmas, I thought I’d squeeze in some November goals. I do love November, it feels like such a short month but there’s still masses to be crammed in.
Blogging
Last month I spoke about feeling a lot happier with my blog and what I write about (see post here). And October was hugely exciting month for me because I was approached by a brand’s PR to write my first sponsored post! Plus, I approached another company to ask if I could review one of their products and, to my surprise and delight, they said yes! So those two posts will be coming up this month – please watch out for both of them, thank you.
Bonfire Night
Bonfire Night is always a big deal in our village; we have a ginormous bonfire and several thousand pounds worth of fireworks. This year, none of the neighbouring villages are hosting a bonfire night so they’ll all be coming along to our village one too. It’s so much fun, and made even more so by seeing how excited Flora gets. I’m thinking of having a pre-fireworks party for a few of her friends this time too. Note to self: remember to add marshmallows (for toasting) and sparklers to this week’s shopping list…
Bath Christmas Market
I’m very lucky to live very near Bath, which has an absolutely fantastic Christmas market. Each year it seems to get bigger and better with over 200 shops and retailers taking spaces this year, most of them local businesses too. It’s Mecca for early Christmas present shopping and the pre-Christmas buzz is fabulous – it opens on 23rd November, alongside the Christmas lights switch on. We’ve got friends coming down from Scotland for it this month, so we’ll take them on the first Friday morning, before all the coaches of tourists swell the crowds. My golden memory from last year was hot chocolate with Baileys – heaven, even if drinking it at 10.30am made me squiffy and in need of an arm to hold onto as we toured all the chalets.
So, these are my November goals, all the B’s this month. Of course, I’ll also be thinking about Christmas presents, and trying hard to get a head start with my shopping but I’m sure I’m not alone in this, am I? 🙂
What do you like about November?

I’m super excited to read your first sponsored posts – congratulations lovey! I’m super excited for Bonfire Night! I always feel a little old to enjoy Halloween, but Bonfire Night is definitely more of a family event, and I’m a little kid at heart anyway.. ? Here’s to a happy November! ?
Thank you, I’m super excited to write them too! I much prefer Bonfire Night to Halloween, mulled wine, anyone? ?
Some lovely goals here Lisa! And congrats on your first sponsored post. They’ll be streaming in from here 😉 I love bonfire night too but don’t really do anything for it anymore so I LOVE the sound of your village! I’d love to do a Christmas market this year as well – there’s one fairly local to me so I might give that a go as my first one as I’m a Christmas market virgin! xxx
Thank you – haha, let’s hope they do stream in from now on, fingers crossed. I wish you lived nearer to me, I’d love to take you round Bath’s market but do give your own a go though, let me know what you think! Xx
Firstly- that hot chocolate has given me a serious craving!! Looks SO good!! I love bonfire night too! I was so hoping to get to Bath Christmas Market this year but it falls at the same time we are aware doing Christmas at Kew and rugby at Twickenham! Will have to be better organised next year! Bath is so beautiful! Great post! xx
Ah, that’s a shame you’ll be away for the Bath market, it looks like a really good one this year too. I may have to do a review ? haha! Enjoy the rugby though, should be fun! xx
Bonfire night sounds great! Looking forward to seeing your sponsored posts! X
Thank you, I hope you enjoy them in due course! And I can’t wait for toasted marshmallow at Bonfire Night 🙂

We used to live in central Bath but moved out when we had our daughter. I love living in the country now but it’s great to still be close by. And thank you, I’m still pinching myself! x
Sounds like you have a lovely wintery November planned! And well done you on getting those posts, it’s really hard to put yourself out there but it shows it pays off! I am not sure if I have anything festive planned, although I am posting a gift guide in a few weeks (eek, nervous!)
Thank you ? I am sooooo looking forward to your Christmas gift guide, I can’t wait to see what you recommend! Xx
I love a good Christmas market gets me so in the Christmas spirit.
Bath’s Christmas Market is such a good one, easily up there with continental ones, not that I’m biased or anything, haha!
Love this! And I’ve been setting some goals myself this week. Makes me so much more motivated when I have them written down to look back on!
Thank you, and I completely agree about writing goals down, it makes it so much easier to achieve things. Good luck with yours!
Im booking my tickets for bonfire night tonight and I am so excited for the Christmas market to appear in Birmingham near me!
