I am one of those irritating people who always tries to see the positive in things. Please note: I said “tries.” But COVID-19 has certainly been testing that ability recently (as I’m sure it has everyone). So I’ve taken a while to jump on board with the Lockdown Silver Linings tag that’s been doing the rounds. Not because I’m a Grinch (well, not that much) but because I feel very blessed to have my family around me in our home. And it seems rather self-indulgent to write about how good we have it right now. And yet, and yet…

COVID-19 Lockdown Silver Linings – 4 things I’m grateful for in isolation
Firstly, thank you to Simone from Midlands Traveller for nominating me. Like you, I clearly needed the nudge to get writing 🙂 I don’t like that very overused word “unprecedented” (which I started a Twitter petition to get banned) so I’ll settle for saying that we are living in extraordinary times.
But, because we live in a house with a garden in the country, things haven’t been affecting us as much as, say, a family of eight crammed into a top floor two bedroom apartment. Or someone who lives on their own. Or even anyone in an abusive or vulnerable situation. That’s what I mean about us having it good during COVID-19. Anyway, on with the tag, here’s the first thing on my lockdown silver linings isolation gratitude list.
Appreciating Nature
Regular readers will know how much I love our garden and how much time I’ve devoted to it over the years. We grow all kinds of flowers, fruit, a few veg, and our garden is buzzing with wildlife: insects, birds, bats, mice, frogs, hedgehogs, even the occasional fox. Not on the scale of lions chilling on South African golf courses, coyotes slinking around the streets of San Francisco, or dolphins tumbling in Venetian canals but still.
In our own small way, we do our best for Nature at home. I’m sure you’ve heard countless studies about how getting outside (friluftsliv as the Scandinavians call it) is beneficial. And never more so than now, when for so many people it’s rationed to just one hour a day. One hour. It’s so true, you never know what you have until it’s been taken away.
Working From Home
I’ve been a remote worker for just over ten years now. The daily commute from kitchen to upstairs office has always meant a few extra minutes in bed in the morning <grin>. Although, it’s arguable how productive I am when Flora’s home from school under normal circumstances – I’m holding out for my own garden office to retreat to…
But working from home really does have to be a Lockdown Silver Lining because things honestly haven’t changed much for me. I’m fairly anti-social anyway and keeping in touch with my work colleagues via email, WhatsApp, or Zoom calls is nothing new.
Pressing the Pause Button
Despite working from home and not having to rush around on the school run (Flora catches the bus), there never seem to be enough hours in the day. For now, my freelance work continues (for which I am very grateful). But that does mean I haven’t been spending as much time with Flora and Alan as I would wish.
So I’m cutting back on my hours while I can, because none of us know how things will play out, or for how long. I believe we’ll be transitioning into a new normal, whatever that may be, for some months yet. And I’m very glad I can press the pause button to take some time out for my family now, and for the foreseeable future.
We are not alone, we have each other
I said at the beginning of this post that Alan, Flora and I are lucky to have each other. Yes, we drive each other nuts from time to time. And occasionally I would LOVE to be able to go off somewhere, for an hour, all by myself, for some alone time. But in all the ways that count, we are not alone, we are healthy, and we have each other.
And that’s one of the most important lockdown silver linings to be truly grateful for. Because the time we spend now – baking, playing games, crafting, reading, homeschooling, chilling in the garden – is time we’ll never get back. We’re living through history and I think we all need to cherish these moments. And, when things go forward in a new normal, to remember to continue to be gentler, kinder, and more considerate with each other too.
So these are my COVID-19 Lockdown Silver Linings. Are any of them the same as yours? What are you grateful for during isolation? And although I’m going to nominate Bexa, Lauren and Jenni, please do feel free to join in too. I think we can all learn to appreciate each other at this time and it’s good to share, don’t you think?
I’ve been loving working from home but I miss the social side of seeing people, but I’ve also loved how it’s less stressful. Also appreciating and taking more note of nature has been lovely also with daily walks and runs around the local area.

I imagine it must be very hard for people who are normally surrounded by colleagues to suddenly not be. But as you say, daily walks in the fresh air are so good for mental as well as physical health! x
Nature is definitely blooming right now and we’ve had so many animals in the garden and in the village! It’s so lovely to see! I dont wish anything like this to ever happen again, but I completely agree with you – it’s nice to hit pause sometimes and enjoy having the family around💕you have an absolutely lovely blog xxxx
If nothing else, it’s a reminder that Natura has a great healing and self-healing ability. And yes, I hope this doesn’t happen again, although I fear it will, but while we can, let’s appreciate what we do have. And thank you so much, that’s so kind! xx
We are living through history, which feels more apparent than ever. Thanks for the positive post!
http://www.susanberkkoch.com/blog
Yes, we really are, it felt odd to write that but it’s the literal truth – and thank you, you’re welcome 🙂
Thanks for sharing your post 😊 I appreciate the time now to go out for walks along my local canal, plus I am loving the time time to enjoy doing my blog for everyone, just missing my girlfriend is the worst thing at the minute 😔
Ah, I’m sorry about your girlfriend, I think it must be so tough on those who have to stay apart, I’m very fortunate in my family – and thank you 🙂
LOve your positive post – I appreciate those things too!
Thank you – that’s great to hear!
Such a lovely post Lisa! I actually have a similar one going live at the beginning of May – albeit not from a tag but still. It’s so important to appreciate the little things right now and be grateful for what we have, rather than what we currently don’t have. We’re so lucky to have all these things to keep us going in lockdown, like loved ones, food, nature and connecting with people online <3
Aw, thank you Jenny, that’s so kind. And yes, that’s what’s behind this tag, I think. There’s enough doom and gloom (understandably so) around at the moment but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some genuinely good things to share and appreciate either. Exactly as you say, xxx
I am a SAHM and while I work hard on the blog I’m not making any money at the moment. I cannot imagine having two kids home from school and daycare and trying to keep up with a traditional job at home.
There are definitely a lot of things to be healthy for right now. Mostly our health and that our church community is still engaging and supportive.
I’ll be honest, working from home and homeschooling do not a perfect mix make, but I’m not complaining because of all the other silver linings! Glad to hear things are going well for you at the moment too though 🙂
I love these little silver linings. Life for me hasn’t changed much because I’m still working, but I’m certainly appreciating my days at home more and not feeling guilty if I’m not productive constantly. Having said that, I’ve also had some really lovely days where I’ve worked so hard on my blog, which I’m so proud of.
Kate
Ah, that’s so lovely to hear – I think not feeling guilty when I’m not as productive as I think I should be is one I’m still going to need to put a lot of work into, haha. Congrats on your blog, that’s great! x
Your garden sounds awesome! I’ve definitely enjoyed getting to spend more time than normal in mine.
Ha, thank you, it’s still a work in progress but getting outside has been a blessing for sure 🙂
Loved this. I think its best to take positives out of negative situations sometimes!
Taking time to pause has been something I have appreciated a lot.
Thank you so much – yes, taking time out has been an unexpected blessing 🙂
Such a positive way of thinking about this. Definitely a better way of viewing social distancing.
Thank you, I do want to focus on the positives while we can 🙂
The working from home thing is such a blessing, that would definitely be on my list too. I’m so glad that my day-to-day hasn’t had to change much either. Very glad I’m not having to isolate alone as well! It’s nice to look at the positives in this crazy situation x
Sophie
Yes, I think it’s very easy to get caught up in the numbers and the news stories (not that I’m minimising their awfulness) but I think a little perspective when you aren’t so badly affected is a good thing xx
I’ve been working from home for just over 3 years now, so that wasn’t anything new. However, I’m one of those people who is always on the go… I may work from home, but my evenings are packed with band rehearsals and performances, teaching music classes, parades, etc. As much as I do miss all of that (and I do) it has been really nice to just kick back and enjoy the time with my husband on evenings and weekends (he’s still working).
That’s something some of my fellow WFH colleagues have mentioned: their curtailed evening social life. I know a lot can be done via Zoom but it’s not the same, I guess. But it’s lovely to be able to pause for a while, and just enjoy being with family 🙂
This is a great post! Keeping up the positive thinking but can be so hard but it’s so important as well, especially when you consider things aren’t as bad as they are for some. I’m in the same boat: I’ve got a garden and I’ve got people around me. Working from home is new, but I’m adapting. Loved this!
Ah, thank you so much! That’s why I was a little hesitant to write it though because I’m aware not everyone is as lucky as we are. But for those of us who are, I think there’s a lot to appreciate right now 🙂
Such a positive post which makes us reflect of what we have to be grateful for!
Jessica & James
Thank you so much, that’s what I was hoping!
I have to agree, there are always positives that come out of something negative! I think this situation really does make you appreciative of the little things, doesn’t it? I am so grateful that we have a garden to sit out in, being outside does a world of good!
Thanks for sharing!

Yes, I think that’s right. For some people that won’t be true, of course, but for many of us it is. And yes, having a garden makes the world of difference! x
I live right next to a small woods/forest so I’m super grateful for being surrounded by nature too! Working from home is such a blessing too x
Oh that sounds dreamy, lucky you, I’d love to live near a wood, that’s amazing! x
Since I planted kale, peas, cabbage, lettuce, chard, tulsi . . . tomatoes in our garden just the other day, I was reminded by your words of how much I love just being able to step outdoors and enjoy the sunshine. Nature is a treasured gift to me, and I love seeing your positive take on what the world is shuffling through right now. 🙂
Ah, thank you so much, Jaya, that’s so kind. And yes, I think if we can find small things to appreciate, it’s something to hold onto during this very scary time xx
I try to stay positive as well and in the beginning was planning all sorts of fun things to do with my daughter. I am still trying to feel positive but some days it gets a little frustrating. We recently moved into an apartment and don’t have the outside privacy like we did at the house. All we can do is try to make the best of our time. Thank you for the encouragement!
It’s hard, isn’t it? Coming up with lots of things to do and trying to fill in for teachers as well. I’m so sorry you don’t have an outside space to call your own any more, that’s bad timing 🙁 But you’re doing great, I’m sure, it’s all any of us can do! xx
great post and reminders Lisa… you are so right on your covid 19 gratitude list…. the best thing what I like the best in this situation is spending much more quality time with family….hope you are enjoying your garden time with Flora… happy week….❤️

Ah, thank you, lovely, that’s very kind – yes, we are indeed, although it’s pouring with rain today so back to baking, I think! x
Really good post!! I loved it♡
Thank you very much 🙂
I am anti social too but misin going out. Working from home seems to be good for me too more productive more focused on work. It’s good actually. it’s like seeing positive side in this lockdown.you are doing great.
Ah, thank you so much, I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s anti-social, haha. I’m glad you enjoyed the post 🙂
I’m so glad everyone is seeing the positives in this strange, strange time. Lovely list!
Al x
I think most people are fairly sanguine about it, aren’t they? And thank you 🙂 x
Yeah, The perfect lines. We have each other every time. I am really enjoying this lockdown period.
love,
Style weds Fashion
That’s very good to hear 🙂
Aww, this is such a lovely post Lisa! Thank you so much for the nomination, this has certainly been perfect timing as I’ve been feeling a little fed up lately but this post as reminded me there is SO much to be thankful for. It’s so true, even though we are living in extraordinary times, we can still cherish these moments and make the best of the situation. Pressing the pause button is something I am appreciating too – it’s so nice to enjoy a slower pace of life. Thank you for sharing such a positive and uplifting post, it really has brightened my day! <3 xxx
Ah, I’m so pleased to read that this cheered you up a little, that’s wonderful! And you’re welcome for the nomination too 🙂 As I said, it took me a while to write this post because I wasn’t feeling it but now I have, I’m very glad I did. I have a LOT to be grateful for, and I think it’s the small things that are easily forgotten, so it’s nice to have the chance to note them down for history 🙂 xxx
Thanks for sharing your positivities during this time, I to have had some positives and negatives from this whole experience, which will hopefully be better from it 🙂
Nic | Nic’s Adventures & Bakes
That’s great to hear you’ve had some positives too – I hope to read them if you write about them at some point? 🙂
Great article! Most of us should definitely think about some of the positives and be grateful for the things we have, because we know some others are not as fortunate.
Thank you so much – I didn’t want to be preachy but I do think the little things are very easily forgotten and should be cherished, no matter what 🙂
I have a love hate relationship with working from home right now but at the end of the day, the fact I have a job that cares about my wellbeing and allows me to do that is a blessing! I’m also finding a few more hours in the day that I didn’t have before, so I’m able to get a lot more done around the house and in my yard and garden! ❤️
Working from home isn’t for everyone, especially if you’ve been used to working surrounded by others, but I wouldn’t swap it for anything. As you say, the flexibility is great, and having more time at home instead of commuting is a blessing for sure! x
I miss seeing immediate family but am enjoying slower pace of life and time with my little ones. There is so much we miss it’s lovely to take it all in and enjoy!
A beautiful post thank you!
Sarah
http://Www.simplysarahjayneloves.com
Ah, thank you so much, I’m so pleased you enjoyed it. Yes, I think we all need to take time to appreiciate the little things, they’re just as important as major events in many ways x
I’ve been appreciating nature a lot more and just the slower pace of things. Feel like it’s a period to just reset and take a step back from the usual crazy life with it’s different demands etc! xx
That’s a lovely way to look at this whole situation, I’m so glad you’re able to do this xx
Wow garden is such a blessing, I’m also grateful
to have it and all the hills and nature around me..
It sounds wonderful where you live, wow!
I’ve been slowing down and taking the time to enjoy more books etc. I’ve also enjoyed spending time with my partner because we usually don’t have enough time together.
Thank you so much for sharing.
That sounds absolutely lovely, I’m so glad you have this silver lining, what a positive thing to take from all this x
One of my main silver linings is having time to do “new job” training from the comfort of my sofa 😂 also being able to give the house a proper sort out 🙂
They sound like great silver linings – congrats on the new job! Could you link your blog so I can return the comment love, please? The .wordpress URL didn’t work 🙁
This is such a great post! It is so nice to be able to push the pause button and not have to run around like crazy. I have enjoyed having more time to cook, clean, and exercise for sure!
More time to cook, clean and exercise does not sound like my idea of heaven, haha, but I’m so pleased you’ve been able to take more time for you! X
I’m super grateful for the time I’m getting to spend with my husband and his family who we moved in with when the lockdown was announced.
Ah, that’s lovely to be with your family, stay safe 🙂
Thank you for this post. I think it is so important to keep positive in this situation. I am grateful for blogging as it has kept me occupied and I have also enjoyed having time to sit down and relax. I no longer have my exams to worry about so I like to spend this time focusing on self-growth and those around me. It has also made me realise how much I love people and socialising!
Em x
Yes, it really is, I think if we can focus on the positives, even if they’re small, it’s something to remember as well as a coping mechanism. Your silver linings sound great! x
Pressing the pause button is definitely something I’m enjoying, however, I’m wondering what our new normal is going to look like.
Love, Amie ❤️
The Curvaceous Vegan
Yes, so am I – a lot let sociable, I fear x
Great post. I wrote a similar one about all the positives I’ve taken from the lockdown. I have to say I’m loving the slower pace and just having more time to do the things I enjoy such as reading and blogging.
Lauren | https://www.laurenyloves.co.uk/
Thank you – and yes, the slower pace is good. I’ll have to check your post out, I love to see what silver linings people are finding!
Such a lovely post! I’m currently not able to work and I must admit its been hard not having a routine each day. I love reading posts about what you’ve been getting up to in your garden and have been inspired to grow some flowers myself.
Stay Safe
Thank you – and yay, I’m so pleased to hear you’ve been growing flowers, it’s such an uplifting thing to do, isn’t it? You stay safe too x
Great post! It’s easy to get sucked into all the negative. It’s more refreshing to focus on the positives.
We’ve certainly been doing more walks in nature over here!
Thank you – and yes, having time to get out into nature is definitely a real silver lining!
I absolutely love this post! It’s so easy to be consumed by all of the negatives about the situation we’re in, but it’s important to look at what we have to be grateful for at the same time. This post is a great reminder of that! Thanks for sharing, I hope you’re doing well! 🙂
melissakacar.blogspot.com
Oh thank you so much, that’s so kind of you! And yes, that’s why I wrote it, I know we’re very lucky and we haven’t lost anyone close to us but, as you say, it’s easy to get overloaded with everything going on. Time out to pause and reflect is so important. Thank you, we are, I hope you are too x
Tick, tick, tick! I agree completely with all of these! Especially the nature part. How fortunate we are that the lockdown happened during Spring and not at the heart of the depressing Winter months! I do a walk to the forest every day and I love seeing how Spring is further every day. Nature is the most valuable thing we have! <3
Teresa Maria | Outlandish Blog
Yes, you’re absolutely right, if we’d been locked down in the depths of Winter that would have been utterly depressing. At least we can appreciate the sunshine and longer daylight hours! Lucky you to live near a forest, that’s wonderful 🙂
One thing that I realized in this pandemic is the real value of happiness and time with my family. I used to be far from them but when this pandemic rose I was able to go back home and spend more time with them and cook for them. I just missed it! Take care always! <3
Stay safe! 🙂
xoxo,

That’s something I think a lot of us are realising: at the end of the day, stuff is all very well but it’s family and friends that are really important and bring the value to our lives. I’m glad you were able to go back to your family, stay safe! x
Yeep, we have to feel grateful for these things even though this is all overwhelming. Thank you!
Indeed we do, thank you!
I’m so greatful that my partner and I worked from home before this and can continue to work from home during this. As much as I miss going out, I am so glad I am not alone and am still working/keeping busy.
It’s not such a huge change for us homeworkers, is it? But that’s great you have each other and work still coming in 🙂
This is really lovely post and has inspired me to do my own! I’m grateful for working from home most definitely, although I miss the office banter quite a bit! I’m also grateful for my family and the fact that there’s so much tech to help us all stay in contact too. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Oh thank you, and that’s wonderful, I look forward to reading it! Yes, I think working from home would be very different without all the modern technology, although I do wish my rural broadband was better!
Lovely little silver linings. I’m really appreciating the lack of commute right now and time I get to spend with my little man now that I have those precious hours at home.
Thank you – that’s great that you have the extra time together – and I know what you mean about the lack of commute time!
Like yourself I always try to see the positive in every situation which at times isn’t always an easy thing to do.
I am a key worker and working both at my work place and from home. I’m thankful for the times I can work from home and not have to commute, I’ve enjoyed the slower pace and the reduction in traffic so I can actually hear nature.
No, it’s not easy, but I’m very fortunate in my work and family so I have a lot to be grateful for. Thank you for what you’re doing, I hope you can stay as safe as possible x
Great list of the positives of lockdown, we’re spending more time with family and enjoying more home-cooked meals. I’m also enjoying long walks with the dogs and hubby.
Thank you – home cooked meals are the best, aren’t they? Especially when I’m not the one cooking!
In times like these, it is good to be able to look at the positive side of things.
The Glossychic
Yes, that’s very true 🙂
I’ve been enjoying not having to do the daily run around with my kids. We have a yard so they can go outside and play which is great when you’ve got 3 kids in the house. Plus I can sit out on the porch and look at sky whenever I just need a mental break.
That sounds lovely, sitting outside and watching the stars is something I love doing too 🙂
This was such a day brightener! I’m trying to see the positives too and be grateful that yes, this certainly hasn’t been the year I’d hoped for, but me and my loved ones are healthy and comfortable in this time, which is so much more than many can say. I feel like I’m learning little lessons from it everyday. So glad to hear that you and the family are safe and well. All my best x
Ah, thank you so much, that’s so lovely to read! Yes, this year hasn’t gone exactly as I’d planned either but we’re trying to take what we can from where we are and we’re very grateful that we’re all together. Take care and stay safe too x
Some people might look at it as it’s negative but it has a lot of good things come from it. Like having the time to spend with family and like you, you might have the time to enjoy some fresh air in the garden. Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you – I’m aware that a lot of people have lost loved ones but we haven’t (yet) so I’m trying to record the positives for a more balanced view!
Yes way to stay positive
Indeed, thank you 🙂
Love the positivity, the more list things we are grateful for during this lockdown the better day is. By embracing all the positivities in life we attract more good energy and feel better about ourselves. Honestly love your post and all the things you are grateful for!
http://www.iambandanakb.co.uk
Ah thank you, that’s what I was trying to do, look on the positives, I’m so glad that came across!
Pressing the pause button! While COVID is awful and not something I would wish upon everyone, I have to say it’s nice to be able to press the pause button on life and just exist for a time. It’s given me time to do things I haven’t been able to do, look at my life a new way and just have a chance to breathe. I feel as though most of us move way to fast through life and while quarantine isn’t something any of us expected, it’s been kinda nice to just pause and enjoy taking a break. It’s also given me a chance to start blogging again ha.
Hope you’re staying safe and healthy!
Casey Anne
That’s EXACTLY how I feel! Obviously, I’d much rather COVID-19 hadn’t happened but now that it has, because we’re well and safe, I can find some positives to lockdown. More time, more space, and a greater appreciation of what we do have and actually need. Welcome back to blogging, and I hope you stay safe and healthy too! x
I love your lockdown silver linings! I’ll be honest, I’m jealous of anyone currently working from home (having been furloughed myself), but full agree that everything being somewhat on pause has been nice. One things for sure though – when I’m allowed to return to work, that alarm going off won’t be the easiest thing to get used to!
Ah, thank you, that’s very kind! And yes, I know how lucky I am to work from home, I don’t think I could ever go back to a job where I had to commute. I find I’m much more productive than when I was in an office, there are far few distractions, and I cherish those few extra minutes in bed in the morning!
Oh what a lovely post and a lovely way to look at this negative time! I am very looking forward to seeing what the other ladies come up with 🙂 I think it’s so good to share positivity like this!
I definitely have my moments with this whole lockdown thing. Sometimes I absolutely LOVE it and then other times I am really struggling.
I love the part about appreciating nature. This is something I was probably a bit ignorant about before but have now started to appreciate a lot more. We’ve had lots of fun in the garden and even went on a hike through the woods which was lovely too.
Thanks for sharing as always Lisa, I love your posts!
Ashleigh
Oh wow, Ashleigh, thank you so much, what a wonderful comment! I definitely have my moments too but overall I really don’t have anything to complain of. And you are so lucky to live near some woods, I bet they are just magical at this time of year, so peaceful and full of bluebells. Thank you so much again, I hope you and yours stay safe and well xx
This is such a lovely post. I think it’s important to look for the silver linings at a time like this. I’m grateful for being healthy and being able to spend more time at home working on my own projects. Thanks for sharing this!
Thank you, Nic, and yes, working from home and being healthy are things I’m not taking for granted again! 🙂
I love this post! I also love that much hasn’t changed for us and we can just embrace this time together and not be in a rush. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much – I’m so glad things haven’t changed too much for you either and we can enjoy the pause 🙂
This is a lovely post! The pause has been so healing
Thank you, Ash, that’s just how I feel 🙂
I love this post – I think it’s so important to look for the silver linings and I’ve been trying to do the same which has helped me get through this weird time! x
– charlotte / charlottesspace.com
Thank you – and that’s very good to hear, positivity is so important! x
Wonderful silver linings! I’m learning to appreciate the time as well… looking for the positive.
That’s so good to hear – and thank you!
The pressing pause really resonated with me. I find I have been able to do things I just never seemed to have the time for. And you’re right, we don’t know what’s to come so the best thing to do is to just slow down and appreciate what we have right now. Thank for this lovely post!
That’s so wonderful to hear, pressing pause is definitely the most valuable thing to come out of this whole situation as far as I’m concerned. That and really understanding what’s important. I’m so pleased you enjoyed this post!
What a great and positive post
Chelle | http://www.chellebelle2016.blogspot.co.uk/
Thank you very much 🙂
I love this Lisa. There are so many things to be enjoying about this time and I think your selection is beautiful.
I am almost worried about going back to normal now. This has become my new normal and I secretly love it.
Take care x x
Oh goodness, thank you, Claire, that’s so kind. And yes, I know what you mean about going back to normal, although in some ways I’ll be glad when Flora’s back at school, however that pans out! xx
Great read! Love your positive perspective ! I’m grateful that we are safe I just wish I was able to work from home 🙂
Thank you – and yes, it’s a real privilege, one I certainly don’t take for granted any more!
I love that you are able to pull from the positive due to the whole pandemic. YESSS! I know people are getting tired of working from home but at least they are in safety. I agree with you – we have each other. We have the resources to reach out if there are issues. Thanks for sharing ways to look at the brighter side of things :).
Nancy ♥
Thank you, Nancy 🙂 Really, I have nothing to complain about and I wanted to share that. There’s so much doom and gloom but (luckily for us) we are well and healthy so for us this pause has only brought good things! x
Thank you so much for the challenge Lisa xxx
No problem, Jenni, I can’t wait to see what you come up with! xxx
These are some great reasons to be grateful for. You have definitely listed some I am grateful for. Definitely the slower pace is helpful, especially at the moment being poorly. Thank you for tagging me. As soon as I am feeling better, I will definitely share my thoughts on the lockdown.
Thank you, Lauren, that’s very kind. And I can’t wait to see what you share when you’re feeling better – which I hope is very soon xx
This was a lovely post Lisa. I love the positivity in it. 😊 I’ve been going to into work everyday, so things haven’t changed much for me there. However when the lockdown started I was staying at my boyfriend’s so I’ve been here ever since. I miss home. I miss my family. We’re trying to make it work in his studio flat… which also has a shared bathroom(!) by going for daily nature walks and watching A LOT of Netflix. 😅
Aw, thank you, Kim, that’s so kind of you 🙂 I’m glad you’re not on your own during lockdown, although I can imagine being together in a studio flat makes it far more of a challenge than if you were home with your family. I hope Netflix and nature can make up for it in some way at least, haha, stay safe x
I am so grateful to be self employed and working from home right now, it must be so hard for those that can! I’m enjoying lots of self care and pampering xo
Makeup Muddle
Yes, I think it must be but for me life really hasn’t changed that much, which is why I wanted to share the positives – pampering sounds fab! x
Lovely post Lisa. Your garden workspace sound delightful! There has been lots of silver linings and small sacrifices we’ve all had to make to be safe and keep each other safe. Here in the Caribbean, it seems the warm weather has been helping to keep our numbers down and reduce the spread. All borders, restaurants (dine in and takeout), beaches, parks and places to exercise have been closed… so hopefully with our numbers low, we can slowly open back up and still be safe. xo
Ah, thank you so much, Ros 🙂 Your situation in the Caribbean sounds very positive too. I must confess to a little bit of envy though, I’d be VERY happy indeed to be in lockdown in the Caribbean and by the sea! In all seriousness though, I’m glad things aren’t too bad where you are, and I hope you can stay safe when things do eventually reopen x
Nice post, Taking a pause would definitely be my own silver lining. Normally, I work 12hrs a day and hardly have any time for myself not to talk of having time for someone else but now I get to talk with a few friends and someone that I’ve been wanting to get in touch with sent me a mail recently which is as a result of the lockdown as he is a busy person. Thanks for sharing this ❤
Thank you – and I’m glad, like me, you’re able to find some time among everything that’s happening to reconnect with friends. I think we’re all discovering what’s really important to us right now <3
I too have found the positive through this pandemic. There have been benefits as well as hardships, but I am choosing to find the happiness and growth within. Thanks for sharing!
That’s so good to read, I’m so pleased – and you’re welcome!
Great post that is what we all should do we have to stay positive while in this pandemic and try use our time
to do things we normally wouldn’t do and be grateful we can start new hobbies etc
I would never have started a blog if it was not for the pandemic
As a H&S advisor I try advise many of my neighbours as well as on my blog
what mask etc should they use use some listen some don’t lol.
Thank you – and that’s so good to hear, although not so much about your colleagues!
Excellent blog here! Also your web site loads up very fast! What host are you using? Can I get your affiliate link to your host? I wish my site loaded up as fast as yours lol.
Thank you very much, and yes, you can, it’s: https://hub.lyricalhost.com/aff.php?id=805 🙂
