December goals

So it’s the most wonderful time of the year again! After what feels like a very busy November, this month I’m keeping my December goals fairly simple. And, surprise, surprise, they revolve around Christmas and family time, which feels absolutely right.  I’m also reflecting on this year and looking forward to 2018 as well.

Family time

I honestly cannot wait for Flora to finish school and for us to all be together as a family for two whole weeks.  She’s of an age now where she’s really good company and gets so excited about all sorts of things that I can’t help but get excited too (present wrapping being the exception).  Among other things this Christmas, we’ll be visiting my favourite aunt, catching up with my bestie lawyer friends, and eating our body weight in chocolate.  I can’t wait!  Note to self: remember to leave out a mince pie and Scotch for Santa on Christmas Eve, and the glittery oats in the garden so the reindeer can find our house…

I took a deep breath after redundancy earlier this year and decided to go freelance rather than work for a company again.  It felt like the right thing to do and so far, fingers crossed, it’s working out well.  Freelancing means I can take time off over Christmas (albeit without being paid) and I don’t have to juggle and struggle with child care arrangements.  The downside is January will be a lean month but, fingers crossed, I WILL pick up some new work in 2018.

I have fallen totally in love with blogging and everything that comes with it.  I never imagined that:

(a) I would enjoy writing so much,

(b) I would learn so much (photography, SEO, social media) and,

(c) that I would get sent the occasional product to review and keep.

But, most importantly, I’ve made some truly lovely and supportive blogger friends.  I’m not doing Blogmas this month, it would stress me out far too much but I’m going to try and read and comment on as many Blogmas posts as I can!

So these are my December goals, nothing too rigorous this month, just focussing on my family and friends – just as it should be, no?

What are you looking forward to this December?

These are the perfect December goals. My December goals are to try not to do too much- I have a lot of family commitments at the moment so trying to fit other things in means I have no time! I am attempting Blogmas this year though and I feel relatively on top of it so far… Have a wonderful December! xx

Ahh what great December goals! Have an amazing time visiting family! Our family always masses together every year, but this time I’m upsetting everyone and vanishing to the depths of Iceland haha! I’ll celebrate with them before I go!

Great list of goals! I’m not doing Blogmas and just letting myself go at my own pace this month.

I am in total agreement with you, focusing on family and friends is what Christmas is all about! I am sure that Flora is equally excited to spend a couple of weeks keeping you company, lucky Santa to get a scotch in your house as well hehe! Like you, I’m not doing Blogmas either, lots of festive content to keep me entertained though!

Phew, I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s not doing Blogmas! Looking at my Twitter timeline you’d think literally everyone is doing it. I think you’ve got the right balance between family, work and blogging (I wish I could say that!). I’ve made it my goal to comment on as many blog posts as possible too 🙂

Good luck on your December goals! I think spending time with family is one of the most important things over Christmas – I only ever seen my relatives on that day (whoops) so I make sure that I make the most of it! It’s so lovely that Flora gets excited about everything too.

And isn’t blogging amazing? It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life. Here’s to many more successful blogging years!

I’m really looking forward to spending time with my family but also doing lots of Christmas shopping tehe!

Oh I need to put some oats out for the reindeer as well, good luck with the freelancing.

These are lovely! Have a wonderful December & holidays x

Those are some great goals, I want to learn more about SEO and get self hosted so those are definitely some of my top blog goals! Hope you have an amazing month of December and achieve all your goals! 💕💕

Hey I hope you have an amazing Christmas good luck with your goals x

These sound like fab goals to round off the year! My main goals this month are to try and get ahead with my January content, and to begin preparing for my prelims at school next month (eek!))

I love that you’ve included all aspects of life and that you’ve set some pretty relaxed goals for this month. I was a little concerned views would drop this month because I’m not doing blogmas then decided there were more important things to worry about. Hope you get plenty of time with your family! x

Your goals sound perfect – spending December with your family and loved ones is what it’s all about in my eyes! And well done you with the freelancing, that’s so brave but awesome and I know that 2018 will be a great year for you.

These are great goals Lisa, best of luck with all of them! Setting aside time for family and relaxation this time of year is SO important! I also didn’t know you freelanced – what do you do?! And I’m so thrilled to hear how much you’ve fallen in love with blogging too 💖

I agree about the chocolate, I’m more or less going around repeating the word chocolate in my head waiting for my next fix. I can justify it because it’s Christmas. I’m so glad freelancing is going well for you, that is so great to hear. x

Holidays are always having family time. December is a month when we plan our vacations and waiting eagerly for that. Blogging is really great and I am enjoying as well as learning so much (SEO is still pending). Have a great December and all the best for your freelancing. 🙂

Christmas is definitely all about family time, although I’m unfortunately not seeing a huge amount of family over the festive period, which is a little heartbreaking! It’s great that you can have a bit of time off, and January is always a tough period money-wise for everyone, so don’t panic too much, just enjoy the time off.. 🙊

It sounds like you’re going to have a very lovely December! Fab goals and I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself
