Wow, June has flown by, where did it go? I think I need to set my July goals now, before the madness that’s the end of summer term hits us all. Last month’s goals were mostly met, which I’m really pleased about, so I want to capitalise on that.
Social media/Blogger exchanges
I want to join in a few more Blogger tags/exchanges and Twitter chats now that I’m a little more confident. I’ve just started a Pen Pal exchange with a lovely blogger called Lydia, whom I met via a Twitter thread. Everyone I’ve spoken to so far has been lovely so that’s really encouraging.
Beaches
One summer goal is to get to the beach a little more than we have done in previous years. We have some lovely ones within a couple of hours drive from our house: Bournemouth, Weymouth, and Swanage. All driveable there and back in a day. I hate sand with a passion but my daughter loves it. And she loves rock pooling, which I do enjoy. So, no more excuses!
Wild swimming
There’s a river about 10 minutes’ drive from our house where you can go wild swimming. You need jelly shoes but it’s great fun taking a crab net and bucket to see what you can catch. OMG, the water is F-R-E-E-Z-I-N-G but the buzz of swimming in a river is huge!

Garden
Things are really starting to bloom and fruit now so I plan to pick as many vases and posies for our house and neighbours as I can. I absolutely adore the fragrance of sweet peas and the more you pick, the more they grow. Last summer I had little posies in every room, it was gorgeous. And our fruit and veg are coming along nicely too – we just need the sun to come back now so we can enjoy eating outside again …
Lose some weight
Sadly, I seem to have put on an additional 10lb over the last few months and, as I can’t afford a new wardrobe, it needs to come off. I know the quickest and simplest remedy for me is to cut out wine (sob, sob). As I’m allergic to exercise and I find dieting a complete bore, then that’s what it will have to be. Perhaps 10lb is a little ambitious in four weeks but we’ll see how things go. Fingers crossed … at least the shopping bill will be a little lighter!
What are your July 2017 goals? Have you set yourself any challenges this month? Do let me know, I’d love to hear them!
