AD | The beginning of a new year is usually when many of us try to implement healthier new routines, isn’t it? But healthy habits aren’t always easy to stick to, and anything that makes my life simpler is something I am VERY much here for. So, the opportunity to try a 28-day supply of Revive Collagen’s Hydrolysed Marine Collagen Drinks made me very keen to find out if their liquid collagen benefits could give me a quick glow up, and improve my health at the same time.
Revive Collagen
Revive Collagen describe themselves as a game-changing ingestible skincare brand, specifically developed to fight the signs of ageing, because younger looking skin starts from within. And collagen is the key to this because collagen, the most abundant protein in our bodies, is found within the connective tissues that make up our tendons, ligaments, bones, muscles, and skin.
Unfortunately, our natural collagen levels begin declining at a rate of 1.5% a year from our early twenties. And by the age of 60, most women have lost 80% of their natural collagen, meaning our skin elasticity and bodies are losing their abilities to bounce back. So, taking a daily collagen supplement to top up or replace what our bodies are losing seems an obvious answer, doesn’t it?
Revive Collagen offers two types of liquid collagen supplements in easy to open, single shot sachets that can be taken once daily for the best results. These collagen drinks have an absorption rate of 90% to 95% – compared with collagen tablets, of which only 30 to 40% is absorbed by your body. So oral collagen supplements offer significant advantages over pills, thanks to this bioavailability. Plus, they can contain substantially more key active ingredients too.
Revive Collagen – Hydrolysed Marine Collagen Drink with Hyaluronic Acid and Aloe Vera Juice
So what goes into liquid hydrolysed collagen and what liquid collagen benefits could you expect to see on your health? Well, this is what goes into the collagen liquids with added hyaluronic acid and aloe vera juice that I’ve been drinking every day for the last few weeks.
Each Revive Collagen sachet contains between 8,500 – 10,000 MG of high-quality marine collagen, which is the most plentiful collagen in our bodies and a key factor in maintaining healthy bone, connective tissue, and skin. It’s collected from ethically farmed fish skin and broken down into collagen peptides, to make it easier and faster to absorb into the bloodstream, in much the same way as our bodies break down food and extract nutrients during digestion. This process is called hydrolysis, hence the name hydrolysed collagen.
And by adding hyaluronic acid to help improve hydration, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as anti-inflammatory, soothing aloe vera, it’s not only your skin that could reap the health benefits.
Revive Collagen – Hydrolysed Marine Collagen Drink – Ingredients
If you’re looking for a collagen that doesn’t taste bad, you’re in the right place. I’ve tried other liquid collagen supplements and not been a fan, but this Hydrolysed Marine Collagen Drink is really rather pleasant. No, it doesn’t taste of fish either – in fact the citrus and lime flavour reminds me of Buttercup cough syrup 🙂 If you don’t love the taste though, you can always add the collagen liquid to a healthy oats and fruit smoothie or yoghurt in the morning instead.
Anyway, here are the ingredients, not including the hyaluronic acid and aloe vera:
- Water
- Hydrolysed Marine Collagen (FISH)
- Acidifying Agent (Citric Acid)
- Natural Flavour Enhancer (Erythritol)
- Mexican Lime Extract
- Sicilian Lemon Extract
- Natural Sweetener (Stevia)
Plus, these liquid collagen shots are free from dairy, soy, gluten, lactose, bovine, and genetically modified ingredients. Sadly, due to the fish element, they’re not suitable for vegetarians or vegans. That said, the company has made a conscious effort to deliver a superior collagen drink free from artificial flavours, colours and added sugar. Made in Britain, Revive Collagen is produced to the highest industry standard and is developed and packed within BRC accredited facilities.
Liquid Collagen Benefits
Before you think about taking collagen daily, you should remember this is only one strand in leading a healthy lifestyle. For example, smoking, sunbathing, and eating excess sugar can all damage the collagen in your body. Whereas Vitamin C, for example, is crucial for collagen synthesis and many superfoods can help with this. But there’s plenty of research online to suggest that collagen supplements may benefit the health of not only your skin, but also your hair, nails, and joints. So, let’s take a closer look.
#01 Skin health
As mentioned earlier, collagen is a major component of our skin, playing a key role in elasticity and hydration. So boosting the collagen peptides may improve skin ageing and reduce wrinkles and dryness. And as studies show that women’s skin loses about 30% of its collagen during the first five years of menopause 🙁 supplements such as Revive Collagen may offer real benefits.
#02 Hair and nails
Collagen is also important in the development of your nails and hair, so taking a collagen supplement may help increase their strength, prevent brittleness, and even help them grow longer. I’m up for anything that helps my poor nails which get trashed every weekend in the garden…
#03 Joint pain
I already take a cod liver oil supplement to help with my joints and after effects of pregnancy-related sciatica. As collagen can help maintain the cartilage tissue protecting your joints, you may be at less risk of osteoarthritis, for example. Particularly helpful if you’re a keen runner (although I’m not!).
#04 Bone loss
Our bones contain collagen, which means as the levels drop, so does our bone mass. This can lead to lower bone mineral density and a higher risk of osteoporosis and bone fractures. Obviously losing weight will help with that too though, to place less stress on already weakened structures.
#05 Muscle mass
Similarly to bones, collagen is an important component of muscle tissue. As we age, our muscle mass decreases and in some circumstances (sedentary lifestyle, lack of protein, etc) this may even lead to sarcopenia. Drinking collagen supplements may help with this.
#06 Heart health
There’s no hard and fast scientific proof that collagen can help reduce the risk of heart conditions. However, collagen provides structure to your arteries so they can carry blood around your body more efficiently. Decreased collagen levels means your arteries may become less flexible and elastic, possibly narrowing, which could in turn contribute to high blood pressure, attacks and strokes.
Please note, I don’t wish to be in any way alarmist, nor am I providing medical advice. These liquid collagen benefits are simply what I found when carrying out some desktop research for this article but, as additions to the benefits of collagen on skin, they all make sense to me.
Are There Any Side Effects From Taking Collagen?
In the interests of looking at both points of view, it’s worth looking at any liquid collagen side effects as well as benefits. Particularly as when we think of side effects, we tend to mean adverse rather than positive, don’t we?
The good news is that I haven’t found any side effects with Revive Collagen as their liquid collagen supplements are all natural and completely safe. The only caveat being that the company recommends you consult with your doctor or health practitioner first if you’re taking other medicine, or if you’re currently pregnant or nursing. And of course, if you have an allergy to fish or shellfish, avoid marine collagen sources like these and perhaps opt for bovine (cow) or plant-based collagen supplements instead.
Do Liquid Collagen Supplements Really Work?
Because that’s the only question you really want the answer to, isn’t it? How long after taking collagen do you see results? Well, depending on the type of collagen you take (eg, liquid vs. powder collagen absorption) and the quality of the product (such as this faster-absorbing hydrolysed collagen), you can expect to see visible results in around two weeks, with real changes within 6-8 weeks of consistent use.
And after nearly 28 days of taking collagen daily, I believe there are significant Revive Collagen liquid collagen benefits on my health:
- The skin on my face looks visibly brighter and clearer, with less obvious pores, shadows, sags, and bags.
- The skin on my neck and décolletage looks smoother.
- I’m losing less hair when I wash it – surely not a coincidence?
- I’m experiencing less aches and pains after sitting at my desk for most of the day.
- And I feel perkier overall (although scientifically I can’t prove that’s down to the extra collagen…)
Anyway, here are some liquid collagen before and after results shots (albeit with different cameras, sorry).
It’s too soon to see any real changes on the structure of my hair and nails, but I’ve been very impressed with these early results, the ease of use, the taste, and the hundreds of happy liquid collagen reviews on the company’s website. So much so that I’ve signed up to a monthly subscription so I can see what the longer term effects are like. This isn’t something I’ve ever done with any other collagen supplement, so I think it’s a real testament to the quality of Revive Collagen’s product being the best liquid collagen shot I’ve tried.
And to be honest, if I can obtain the radiant glows of co-founder Samantha Faiers and Brand Ambassador Amanda Holden, I’ll be a very happy girl indeed. I’ve talked about the importance and benefits of a 30 day self care routine with ideas that take 30 minutes or less, but an activity that takes 5 minutes or less has to come near the top of the list, don’t you think?
Where can I buy Revive Collagen’s Hydrolysed Marine Collagen Drink?
If younger looking skin that starts from within plus a whole heap of other potential health benefits sound appealing, there are a couple of shopping options. You can buy Revive Collagen drink supplements online directly from them and they offer free delivery on all products. There are 3 different pricing choices available, from a one-off 14-day trial supply for £33.99, a 14-day subscription for £27.99, or a 28-day subscription for £55.98, which is the option I’ve gone for. And, if you use my referral code and link* we’ll both get £10 off as well – yay!
Alternatively, you can shop on Boots, which is slightly more expensive and I don’t believe you can set up a subscription either. But really it’s whatever personal preference works best for you at the end of the day 🙂
In conclusion, yes, the Revive Collagen drink supplements are in the higher end price bracket, but you do get what you pay for. And as such, I think they’re definitely worth it. Or, more accurately, I’m worth it. I’ve said this before and I’ll die on this hill: we wear our skin every day so why not invest in it? And I don’t just mean financially, I mean for the sake of our mental and physical well being too. Because not only does beauty truly come from within, but our health and happiness does as well. And for me, I don’t think you can put too high a price on that.
Have you ever tried a liquid collagen supplement? Or any form of collagen supplement? What do you think of the potential liquid collagen benefits for anti ageing and your health? Are you tempted to give some supplements a go now?

This sounds like a wonderful supplement Lisa. Thanks for your honest review on the product. I don’t think that this will be available here in Canada but I will certainly be researching more on collagen products here.
Thank you, Jodie – yes, I had no idea how important collagen could be, but I’m very happy to have found out now 🙂 I hope you can find an equivalent supplement in Canada 🙂
Benefits skin, hair and nails. You’ll always grab my attention with this. And that packaging catches eyes too.
It does, doesn’t it? Such a good product though, so happy I’ve found it.
I love reading your thoughts about this Lisa 🙂 I haven’t heard of this product but it’s always good to get someone’s opinion before looking into a product x
Thank you, Eleanor, that’s very kind, I hope it’s helped, one way or another! x
Thank you for the thorough review Lisa! I love when it’s women MY age reviewing an anti-aging product. I am so bad with all supplements but been upping my game a bit this year. Now I am taking every morning vitamin C&D and a CoQ10 capsule. The expensive hair gummies are a always forgotten 😅
Thank you, Jenni! Yes, I know what you mean about supplements, but that’s what I like about this one, it makes life so much easier 🙂
I’m taking liquid collagen for some time now for my hair, but didn’t know it had so many other benefits as well. Thanks for sharing.
I was surprised as well, but it all makes sense, doesn’t it? 🙂
I was aware of some of the benefits but not for all of them! I wish I can get this specific product in the USA
I don’t think they ship to the US but it’s always worth asking, you never know 🙂
I’ve never tried a liquid collagen before but after reading this and the benefits it has, i defo think it’s something I might add into my daily routine. I love the sound of it and everything it does. Thank you so much for sharing Xo

You’re welcome, I’m glad you found it useful, thank you! x
Love this review! I never tried a liquid collagen!
Thank you – it’s a game changer 🙂
Great review – this sounds like such an amazing product! I love that it also helps with joint pain, as someone who suffers from them quite a lot haha. It’s great that it has benefits for hair and nails too! Thank you so much for sharing x
Thank you so much – and yes, I had no idea there were so many benefits to taking a collagen supplement either! x
That was a great reminder to include Vitamin C with the use of liquid collagen. It’s so easy to forget how intertwined everything really is.
Absolutely, you want to get the best out of any supplement you take, don’t you?
Thank you for introducing me to liquid collagen! I’ve been taking collagen in a gummy form and liquid definitely sounds like a better option. I’m glad to hear it has a pleasant taste and they’re free from added sugar. Thank you for sharing!
I’ve not tried gummies but yes, liquid collagen will be absorbed much faster than a pill or gummy – plus if you don’t like the taste, you can add it to something you do like!
Wow there are so many amazing benefits from liquid Collagen! I haven’t really looked into it before but wow. This product looks great x
There really are – and yes, this is a fab product, I’m loving it 🙂 x
Reading this post makes me believe that I should start taking collagen drink again. I stop drinking collagen drink for quite a long time. Thank you for sharing.
There are so many benefits to drinking collagen, Fadima, I had no idea before I started looking into it!
Interesting that it has this many great benefits. I will keep these in mind! Thank you so much!
It is interesting, I had no idea beforehand either!
I didn’t realise our collagen went down so quickly! And from such a young age too. That’s crazy. I’ve not really looked into liquid collagen before so thank you for sharing, it sounds fab.

It is crazy, isn’t it? Glad you enjoyed the post, Claire x
Seems like a fantastic product for the skin, love the design
and would be great to try..
It’s a great collagen product, certainly the best I’ve tried!
I’ve always been super wary about products like this but I think you’ve really changed my mind with this post! First of all, I can DEFINITELY see results in you! Your skin looks plumper and firmer and more radiant, it’s amazing! Not that you didn’t look beautiful before though. I’ve tried a few liquid supplements before and I always REALLY struggle with the taste so I’d probably have to add these to something in order to get it down me. It’s amazing how much collagen we lose and specifically at such a young age!
Oh wow, Jenny, that’s so kind of you, thank you so much! I wasn’t sure the difference was that obvious but I’m so pleased it’s visible 🙂 I agree, it’s scary how much collagen we lose from quite early on, so I’m very happy to have found something that’s both palatable and effective!
I’ve heard about collagen but never really looked into it much but feel I probably should as it seems like such a useful supplement. Thanks for the review!
It’s a really useful supplement, so good for so many things, not only our skin 🙂
Collagen is a wonderful supplement to take and I had no idea how much collagen can go down at such a young age! x

I know, it’s scary, isn’t it! x
I have never tried collagen products but I hear a lot about its benefits on the body. I’m starting my pre-menopause so I’m exploring these products a bit, even though I’m not ready to start collagen right away. I’m glad to know that Revive Collagen is made of natural products, that there are no side effects, and that it is accessible to people with food sensitivities (Gluten and dairy in my case). Thank you for sharing.
To be honest, I had no idea about all the potential health benefits, apart from those on your skin, but I’ve seen a real difference since I’ve been taking the daily drinks. I hope you can find something like Revive Collagen that works for you, if you do decide to go down this route.
This was really interesting, I didn’t know much about it other than what you see on the tv adverts! It is great that is all natural. Thank you for sharing this post Lisa! It is something I may need to look into.
Lauren
I’m no medic but it may ease your fibromyalgia as it helps with muscle and joint tissues. It might be worth seeing what your doctor thinks? x
Thank you for sharing, collagen is popular in Asia but there is one yet that I find effective, hope I get to try Revive Collagen someday, glad it worked well for you 🙂
Oh, I hope you find one too – I don’t think RC ship to Asia yet, but it might be worth asking them!
Before reading this I didn’t really know what collagen was, but wow, so many benefits! Amazing that you can see benefits after only 1 month of taking them x
I know, I’ve been so surprised and thrilled! x
I’ve been thinking of trying collagen because I’d heard it can help with hair growth and mine is thinning out a little.
I heard that too – certainly mine is falling out less now 🙂
Ooo I didn’t really know liquid collagen like this even existed. I don’t tend to go for pills of anything anymore because of my stoma bag so this option is appealing. With things I have problems with – skin, flaking nails, thin hair, osteoporosis, etc – collagen would make sense to try. I’m glad you found some initial benefit and I hope the monthly subscription turns out to be a good investment for you! I’m going to have a mooch on their site now, and then check Boots too. xx
Thank you, Caz, that’s very good to hear, I really hope this can prove successful for you, especially as liquids are absorbed faster in any case. Fingers crossed for you x
