A thank you teacher gift for the best teacher in the world

26th July 2018      Lisa      38 Comments

This year our school summer holidays are bittersweet as Flora’s favourite teacher has gone on maternity leave and won’t be there in September.  So she wanted to put together a special little thank you teacher gift for her.  We contributed to the main gift as well, but this one is personal, from Flora.

Contents

  • 1. Thank you teacher
    • 1.1. Flora’s thank you teacher gift

Thank you teacher

Flora was lucky enough to have her favourite teacher for two years (when she was a Year 2 she went up a year in September 2016 to join the Year 3 pupils).  During this period, she has absolutely blossomed and formed a very special bond with her teacher.  Her recent school report is evidence of how well her teacher knows her:

“Flora is a joy to teach … I will very much miss teaching her next year, in particular, her unbridled enthusiasm for nature, science and the world.  I look forward to seeing what she becomes in life, I imagine something in Marine Biology!”

I’m not putting this excerpt in to boast, I just want to share how much encouragement and support she’s had from a brilliant teacher.

Flora’s thank you teacher gift

The selection of gifts were carefully chosen with very much a self-care and a new mum focus:

A-thank-you-teacher-gift_www.lisasnotebook.com

Hand cream is always a nice to have and these little L’Occitane hand creams are small enough to pop in the hospital bag too – I was tempted to keep my favourite Almond one but Flora overruled me (!) I remember getting dry lips when I was pregnant so we thought some lip butter would be a nice touch.  And what better way to cool down than with a refreshing water spray, especially in this current heatwave?

A-thank-you-teacher-gift_www.lisasnotebook.com

Continuing the self-care theme, we chose a couple of organic herbal tea bags and some aloe vera scented incense cones to promote a calming and soothing atmosphere.  And Flora chose the little wooden love keyring which she bought with her own money.

A-thank-you-teacher-gift_www.lisasnotebook.com

As her teacher is heavily pregnant, alchohol was not an option but we thought these Real Wine Gums from Vinoos * would be a great alcohol-free alternative!  They’re suitable for vegans and vegetarians, are gluten, fat, nut, gelatin and lactose-free, and contain no artificial colours either.  Fingers crossed she likes them 🙂

A-thank-you-teacher-gift_www.lisasnotebook.com

And I couldn’t not share Flora’s thank you card for the best teacher in the world, written in her favourite colourful rainbow writing.  (And in case you were wondering about the boy reference, apparently, that’s what her teacher thinks she will be having!)

What do you think of our choices?  Would you like to receive any of them?  (And you don’t need to be pregnant or a teacher either!)

All items marked * were gifted to me but this is an honest review, please see my Disclaimer.

Your choices look perfect, Lisa! What a lucky teacher! I’m really glad Flora had a good bond with her, some of the people who inspired me the most when I was younger were my teachers, and I think it’s such an important thing which is often overlooked. I hope she has many more wonderful teachers! 🙂 x

Flora was so lucky to have her – although TBH all her teachers have been brilliant so far, her school is great. We wanted to let her favourite teacher know how much she means to us because, you’re right, impressions at Flora’s age set the standard for life. xx

Aww! What a wonderful gift Lisa! Those L’Occitane hand creams look so nice and I love the heart shaped tin. Flora made such a good choice with the keyring, it’s so cute. I also love Flora’s creative & colourful card too, she definitely has artistic talent. Everything in this gift is so kind, thoughtful and perfect for self-care. Thank you for sharing & enjoy your summer holidays Flora! <3 xx

I’m both a teacher and pregnant and would be overjoyed to receive such a thoughtful gift! Loccitane hand creams are my favourite and giving her them in handbag size to pop into her hospital bag is the best idea! I’m sure she really appreciated the thought that went into Flora’s lovely gift!

Absolutely perfect choices! I’m sure Flora’s teacher will be thrilled with everything, clearly so much thought has gone into it. I always felt so sad at the end of the school year having to leave my favourite teachers! I hope Flora loves her next one though just as much ? Xx

Aw, Ellis, thank you! I’ve always loved the name Flora, I didn’t and still don’t know anyone else with that name so it’s lovely to have an unusual name. Haha, she doesn’t get her good taste or artistic talent from me or Alan so that’s a bit of a mystery 🙂 xx

This is SO SWEET! It’s so lovely that Flora has had a teacher that’s made such an impact on her. If I had a kid, I could only dream of that for them in Primary School. Teachers can truly make or break a school experience. She chose some lovely gifts, I’m sure her teacher absolutely loved them. Also so lovely what she said about her in her school report, I bet you were beaming! xxx

I love that Flora connected so well with her teacher (and her teacher with her) and put together this lovely gift basket in appreciation! Good teachers are indeed the best teachers in the world, and the self-care theme here put together a selection perfect for relaxing, though I am sure the card was the most colorful thing in the basket. Handwritten words always mean a rainbow and more. 🙂

🌈 Our beloved hobo has taken his last journey. Yes 🌈 Our beloved hobo has taken his last journey. Yesterday evening we had to say farewell to Ginger at nearly 21 years old.

13 years ago he wandered into our greenhouse and decided ours was his new home. So many memories:

😻 He saw us through Buzz, Lily, and Jester, and the arrivals of Spooky, Loki, and Lyra.
😻 Always the most chilled cat, not interested in fighting any other cats, ours or visitors.
😻 Greediest cat ever, not even willing to share with the resident hedgehogs. He could hear the sound of someone walking into the kitchen from 5 miles away.
😻 An inveterate bin diver – our neighbours got used to seeing their recycling spread across the road after he’d gone searching for food.
😻 Always commandeering the warmest spot in the garden or house.
😻 Putting up with Spooky always seeking him out and snuggling up with him.
😻Somehow generating more heat than a volcano, so we could never tolerate him on our laps for more than 10 minutes, we’d have to move him next to us instead.
😻 Always knowing when any of us needed comfort or company and snuggling up to offer purring support.

RIP, Ginger, thank you for choosing us, we were privileged to have you as part of our family, and you leave the biggest hole in all our hearts. 😿
