This year our school summer holidays are bittersweet as Flora’s favourite teacher has gone on maternity leave and won’t be there in September. So she wanted to put together a special little thank you teacher gift for her. We contributed to the main gift as well, but this one is personal, from Flora.
Thank you teacher
Flora was lucky enough to have her favourite teacher for two years (when she was a Year 2 she went up a year in September 2016 to join the Year 3 pupils). During this period, she has absolutely blossomed and formed a very special bond with her teacher. Her recent school report is evidence of how well her teacher knows her:
“Flora is a joy to teach … I will very much miss teaching her next year, in particular, her unbridled enthusiasm for nature, science and the world. I look forward to seeing what she becomes in life, I imagine something in Marine Biology!”
I’m not putting this excerpt in to boast, I just want to share how much encouragement and support she’s had from a brilliant teacher.
The selection of gifts were carefully chosen with very much a self-care and a new mum focus:
Hand cream is always a nice to have and these little L’Occitane hand creams are small enough to pop in the hospital bag too – I was tempted to keep my favourite Almond one but Flora overruled me (!)
I remember getting dry lips when I was pregnant so we thought some lip butter would be a nice touch. And what better way to cool down than with a refreshing water spray, especially in this current heatwave?
Continuing the self-care theme, we chose a couple of organic herbal tea bags and some aloe vera scented incense cones to promote a calming and soothing atmosphere. And Flora chose the little wooden love keyring which she bought with her own money.
As her teacher is heavily pregnant, alchohol was not an option but we thought these Real Wine Gums from Vinoos * would be a great alcohol-free alternative! They’re suitable for vegans and vegetarians, are gluten, fat, nut, gelatin and lactose-free, and contain no artificial colours either. Fingers crossed she likes them 🙂
And I couldn’t not share Flora’s thank you card for the best teacher in the world, written in her favourite colourful rainbow writing. (And in case you were wondering about the boy reference, apparently, that’s what her teacher thinks she will be having!)
What do you think of our choices? Would you like to receive any of them? (And you don’t need to be pregnant either!)
All items marked with an (*) were gifted to me.
