AD | “Life isn’t perfect but your jewelry can be.” Taking a sneak peek into upcoming fashion trends is a surefire way of bringing a ray of sunshine and warmth into a dreary winter’s day. And although jewelry is a comparatively small part of any ensemble, it speaks volumes about your personal style. Here are five fab jewelry trends that you can expect to see everywhere in 2023, and that you can adapt for almost any occasion.

What Makes a Jewelry Trend – 5 Fab Jewelry Trends To Try In 2023

“Jewelry is the most transformative thing you can wear,” according to Iris Apfel, probably because it gives an instant insight into an individual’s interests and personality. Classic or modern, heirlooms or handmade, jewelry is not just a fashion accessory, it’s an investment. Sometimes it’s even a timeless piece of art that you wear to reflect your personality (if not always your budget!). But jewelry trends aren’t only about the pieces themselves, it’s about how you style and wear them to make them yours.

Pearls and Chains

“The pearl is the queen of gems and the gem of queens.” Grace Kelly

A perennial classic, pearls have flown under the radar for some time. But in 2023, they’re back in a big way. Minimalists can go with a pearl ring while maximisers can feel free to drape themselves in luxurious ropes without any danger of going too far. You’ll see pearls interwoven with heavy chains and strung delicately on dainty chains.

Beloved of Coco Chanel, pearls are the ultimate in flirty fashion. One of the best things about pearls is their versatility, you can wear them with everything from wedding dresses to business suits to blue jeans and beyond. This is a trend that’s definitely worth investing in as pearls will always be appropriate.

Nature Motifs

“Life isn’t perfect but your jewelry can be.” Unknown

Nature abhors a vacuum and fashion mavens can’t live without their accessories. This is doubly true when it comes to nature-inspired motifs such as flowers. These may be either realistic or stylised, but either way, happiness will bloom in your heart and in those who see you every time you wear them.

Surfer style is another hot trend for Spring 2023. Stones, rough or polished, and whole shells or shimmering mother of pearl pieces sanded into shapes instantly make you think of lazy days at the beach and vacation time.

Elevated Boho

“Jewelry is a very personal thing… it should tell a story about the person who’s wearing it.” Garance Daré

A bigger trend that has been building over the past few years is focused on personal expression and showing the True You. Your clothes express your sense of style, but jewelry is even more personal, and in this case, perhaps even handmade by the wearer. Earrings dangling with feathers, fringe, and healing crystals are all the rage for Spring 2023.

Stacks of bangles will be adorning wrists everywhere. If you’re feeling the urge to create, this year is the perfect time to channel your inner crafter. Making your own jewelry doesn’t have to be intimidating. It can be as simple as stringing a favourite pendant on a chain or strand of beads. The only thing that matters is that it reflects your personality.

Chunky Gems

“These gems have life in them: their colours speak, say what words fail of.” George Eliot

When it comes to jewels in 2023, bigger is definitely better. Possibly due to the Netflix hit Stranger Things or maybe just because opulence is the name of the game, but the 1980s love of bright colours and bold gemstones is back big time.

As for settings, gold is always a classic, but in 2023, silver is taking centre stage. Cool and clean, silver is definitely aimed at the younger set and has been spotted on such trendsetting celebrities as Gigi Hadid and Hailey Bieber.

Punk Accents

“Your jewelry introduces you before you speak.” Madison Gem

Everything about the 80s are incredibly hot for 2023. Think oversize earrings, bold cuffs, and edgy leather chokers. Leather isn’t limited to accessories by the way, and you’ll see plenty of it from head to toe. As for cuffs, they’re being worn all the way up and down the arms and sometimes both, meaning sleeves will be doing a disappearing act.

And when it comes to hoops, shoulder-grazing style is all the rage. For everyone who ever wanted to be Joan Jett (who didn’t?), feel free to break out all your fab punk gear.

So, no matter if you’re a Classic or a Crafter, Minimalist or Maximiser, there’s something for everyone to love when accessorising with these 5 fab jewelry trends in 2023. And always remember the wise words of Diane Von Furstenberg, “Jewelry is like the perfect spice – it always complements what’s already there.”

Which of these 5 fab jewelry trends for 2023 do you like the best? Which one can you see yourself wearing? What’s your favourite way to express your personal style through jewelry?

I am usually wearing nature-inspired jewellery, either colourful or plain metal (silver, steel). I don’t follow trends, but the kind of jewellery I’m using is evergreen. 🙂

Isn’t it though? And yes, I agree, pearls are never out of place, whether that’s a rope or a single pearl on a thin chain.

🌈 Our beloved hobo has taken his last journey. Yes 🌈 Our beloved hobo has taken his last journey. Yesterday evening we had to say farewell to Ginger at nearly 21 years old.

13 years ago he wandered into our greenhouse and decided ours was his new home. So many memories:

😻 He saw us through Buzz, Lily, and Jester, and the arrivals of Spooky, Loki, and Lyra.
😻 Always the most chilled cat, not interested in fighting any other cats, ours or visitors.
😻 Greediest cat ever, not even willing to share with the resident hedgehogs. He could hear the sound of someone walking into the kitchen from 5 miles away.
😻 An inveterate bin diver – our neighbours got used to seeing their recycling spread across the road after he’d gone searching for food.
😻 Always commandeering the warmest spot in the garden or house.
😻 Putting up with Spooky always seeking him out and snuggling up with him.
😻Somehow generating more heat than a volcano, so we could never tolerate him on our laps for more than 10 minutes, we’d have to move him next to us instead.
😻 Always knowing when any of us needed comfort or company and snuggling up to offer purring support.

RIP, Ginger, thank you for choosing us, we were privileged to have you as part of our family, and you leave the biggest hole in all our hearts. 😿
