How To Style Your Gold Chain – What Chain To Go For?

You’re spoilt for choice really, with so many types of gold chains to choose from in a wide variety of styles, lengths, and widths to suit any taste. From dainty and delicate chains perfect for layering to statement-making pieces that can be worn on their own, you can opt for a perfect white gold, rose gold, or yellow gold chain for every outfit and occasion. Here are ten expert tips to help you showcase your gold chain with elegance and sophistication, adding an individual and fashionable touch to your overall style.

Layered Necklace Look

Layering gold chains is a popular trend that adds depth and visual interest to your outfit. To achieve this look, opt for gold chains of different lengths and thicknesses. Try mixing and matching pendant styles, from delicate charms to minimalist designs, or experiment with layering different necklaces like chokers or lariats. Let your creativity shine and create a unique layered necklace look for yourself.

How to style your gold chain jewelry - pendant

Statement Pendant

Make a statement with a bold and eye-catching pendant paired with your gold chain. It’s best to choose a pendant that complements the style and length of your chain and then ensure the pendant is the focal point by keeping other accessories minimal.

Choker Style

For a touch of timeless elegance, wear your gold chain as a choker and wrap it around your neck for a sophisticated look. You can opt for a thicker chain or add a pendant to enhance the choker effect. Pairing this choice with off-the-shoulder tops or lower necklines can create a captivating and alluring ensemble.

Back Necklace

Want to create a mesmerising and unique look? Drape your gold chain across your back and fasten it at the front, perhaps with an added pendant or charm(s) for extra interest. Don’t forget to choose a low-back or backless outfit to showcase your choices.

How to style your gold chain jewelry - bracelet

Bracelet or Anklet

Why not extend the versatility of your gold chain by transforming it into a fashionable bracelet or anklet? Wrap the chain around your wrist or ankle, adjusting the length of the chain according to your preference and desired fit. For a more striking statement, try stacking your gold chain bracelet or anklet with other complementary pieces to create an individually layered look.

Hat Band

One way to style your gold chain you may not have thought of is to add a unique and stylish touch to your wide-brimmed hat by using it as a hat band. Simply wrap the chain around the base of the hat and secure it with a knot or small clips. You could co-ordinate the colour of the chain with the hat’s material for a cohesive and fashionable look, or go for an eye-catching contrast instead. Either way, your hat can become a statement piece with the added charm of a gold chain.

How to style your gold chain jewelry - belt

Belted Style

You could incorporate your gold chain into your outfit as a fashionable belt, either by looping it through belt loops or tying it around your waist to cinch in a dress or high-waisted pants. Again, you can experiment with different chain thicknesses and designs to complement various outfits so that your gold chain becomes a fashionable and eye-catching accessory around your waistline.

Handbag Embellishment

In a similar vein, you could add a gold chain as an embellishment to your handbag by attaching it to the strap or handle. This small detail can transform a plain bag into a fashionable statement piece and elevate your entire ensemble.

Hair Accessory

Don’t forget your crowning glory either – you can incorporate your gold chain into your hairstyle as a decorative hair accessory in so many ways. Braid the chain into your hair, wrap it around a ponytail, or use it to adorn a bun, then secure in place with bobby pins or hair ties to add a touch of elegance and sparkle.

Body Jewelry

Lastly, depending on the length of your gold chain, you could even wear it as body jewelry. Drape the chain across your chest or shoulders, adjusting its length and position based on your outfit and desired effect.

As you can see, no matter your outfit, if you’re looking for a way to add a uniquely personal and fashionable touch to your outfit, there’s something for everyone to love when accessorising with a gorgeous gold chain. And taking inspiration from a fellow jewelry lover, always remember the wise words of Daphne Guinness, “I treat clothing or a piece of jewelry like it was a piece of art.”

Which of these 10 expert tips on how to style your gold chain do you like the best? Which one can you see yourself wearing? What’s your favourite way to express your personal style through jewelry?

🌈 Our beloved hobo has taken his last journey. Yes 🌈 Our beloved hobo has taken his last journey. Yesterday evening we had to say farewell to Ginger at nearly 21 years old.

13 years ago he wandered into our greenhouse and decided ours was his new home. So many memories:

😻 He saw us through Buzz, Lily, and Jester, and the arrivals of Spooky, Loki, and Lyra.
😻 Always the most chilled cat, not interested in fighting any other cats, ours or visitors.
😻 Greediest cat ever, not even willing to share with the resident hedgehogs. He could hear the sound of someone walking into the kitchen from 5 miles away.
😻 An inveterate bin diver – our neighbours got used to seeing their recycling spread across the road after he’d gone searching for food.
😻 Always commandeering the warmest spot in the garden or house.
😻 Putting up with Spooky always seeking him out and snuggling up with him.
😻Somehow generating more heat than a volcano, so we could never tolerate him on our laps for more than 10 minutes, we’d have to move him next to us instead.
😻 Always knowing when any of us needed comfort or company and snuggling up to offer purring support.

RIP, Ginger, thank you for choosing us, we were privileged to have you as part of our family, and you leave the biggest hole in all our hearts. 😿
