4 Reasons Why Wooden Flooring is an Essential Component of Quiet Luxury *

18th July 2023      Lisa      4 Comments

AD | Luxury is something many of us yearn for in our everyday lives. Most people assume a life of luxury is reserved only for film stars and celebrities and that ordinary people will have to make do with what they have. This isn’t strictly true. In fact, it can be easier than you might think to bring some luxury into your life and wooden flooring can be the perfect way to do so. Here are four reasons why this incredible flooring choice is quiet luxury personified.

Contents

  • 1. Benefits of Wooden Flooring
    • 1.1. A Timeless Look
    • 1.2. Rich Colours and Patterns
    • 1.3. Versatility
    • 1.4. Long Lasting

Benefits of Wooden Flooring

Wood is an environmentally friendly choice that goes with any interior design. It’s also great for people with allergies, as it doesn’t trap dust particles and pet hair in the same way as a carpet. And it’s a lot easier to install than a carpet or tiles too, with a whole host of colours and laying patterns to choose from. So you can customise it to your own individual style in your bedroom, your living room, or just about any room of your house.

A Timeless Look

Wood floors have been popular for hundreds of years, if not longer. You might think that means they’re completely out of fashion, but this couldn’t be further from the truth.

Wooden floors, such as the types you can find at Wood Floor Warehouse, have stood the test of time and remain the ultimate choice for luxury homes and buildings, whether that be a stately countryside manor or a decadent banquet hall.

Interior design trends move quickly, and we see styles come and go all the time. Few looks have remained as ever-present as wooden flooring, a true testament to just how incredible it is. The popularity of wooden flooring won’t be going away anytime soon either, so you can be confident that your floor will never go out of fashion.

Rich Colours and Patterns

Luxury means something different to us all, but what it comes down to is our individual perception. Whether it be sight, touch, smell, or sound, luxury is about how our senses respond to certain stimuli.

Sight, in particular, is an important sense when it comes to luxury, and wooden floors can certainly appeal to our aesthetic sensibilities. Wood contains deep, complex colours such as browns, reds, oranges, and yellows all in various shades and undertones. The patterns in wooden floors are also wonderful to look at, like the swirls and spirals throughout the grain of the material.

The true understated power of wooden flooring is that it can be simultaneously striking and subtle. It isn’t loud or brash. Instead, it’s understated and unpretentious, making it the perfect choice if you’re looking to bring some quiet luxury into your home.

Versatility

Luxury doesn’t start and end with the floor. The rest of your home will need to be curated and designed to complement the atmosphere and create an overall luxurious feeling.

And wooden flooring is the perfect material to showcase the rest of your interior design. It’s a versatile material that goes with just about any other material or style you can imagine.

For example, if you want to achieve your sense of luxury through expensive soft furnishings and materials, combining this with a wooden floor will create an incredible contrast. On the other hand, if you want to maximise the potential of wood as a material, you can add wooden furniture and structures to your home that will match perfectly with your floor.

Wood’s versatility is why it’s still such a popular material for use in floors and why it’s such an ideal choice when looking to build and design the ultimate luxurious home.

Long Lasting

Luxury isn’t just about how things look and feel, it’s also about quality and longevity. With wooden floors, you can feel confident that they’ll last for a long time. With the proper care and maintenance, your wood floors will last for decades and look as good as the day they were installed.

Keeping your floor clean and tidy is the key. And it’s easy to clean too, there’s no need to use specialist cleaning chemicals or products. Simply wipe down the floor using a cloth and lukewarm water.

You should also take steps to avoid overexposing your floor to sunlight, as this can age and discolour the wood. Think about some rugs for a conservatory floor, for example, so your wooden floor will last and give your home a sense of quiet luxury for many years to come.

Did you think it would be impossible to achieve a sense of luxury without a significant financial investment? As you can see, wooden flooring can be the perfect way to get the luxe look for less. The material is incredible to look at, versatile, and long-lasting, perfect for elevating all your interior spaces and creating the home of your dreams.

Wood floorings are definitely underrated. They’re really quite excellent–easy to maintain, quite durable. I think a lot of people overlook them as a design element, but they really do make a space come together.

Yes, they do – we have some wooden floors in our home and they are fab. Easy to clean and warmer underfoot than tiles too.

I love the grains on the wooden floors that add character to the house; wished I had them in my home. Thanks for sharing how to clean and maintain them, I didn’t know how but thanks to your post I do now 🙂

🌈 Our beloved hobo has taken his last journey. Yes 🌈 Our beloved hobo has taken his last journey. Yesterday evening we had to say farewell to Ginger at nearly 21 years old.

13 years ago he wandered into our greenhouse and decided ours was his new home. So many memories:

😻 He saw us through Buzz, Lily, and Jester, and the arrivals of Spooky, Loki, and Lyra.
😻 Always the most chilled cat, not interested in fighting any other cats, ours or visitors.
😻 Greediest cat ever, not even willing to share with the resident hedgehogs. He could hear the sound of someone walking into the kitchen from 5 miles away.
😻 An inveterate bin diver – our neighbours got used to seeing their recycling spread across the road after he’d gone searching for food.
😻 Always commandeering the warmest spot in the garden or house.
😻 Putting up with Spooky always seeking him out and snuggling up with him.
😻Somehow generating more heat than a volcano, so we could never tolerate him on our laps for more than 10 minutes, we’d have to move him next to us instead.
😻 Always knowing when any of us needed comfort or company and snuggling up to offer purring support.

RIP, Ginger, thank you for choosing us, we were privileged to have you as part of our family, and you leave the biggest hole in all our hearts. 😿
