Why Are Boho Bathroom Decor Ideas So Popular?
Because they’re an appealing combination of vintage, bohemian, and modern styles that evoke a sense of relaxation and luxury. The organic textures, vibrant colours, and eclectic pieces make Boho bathroom decor an ideal choice for those who are looking to create a uniquely personal look and inviting atmosphere in their home, with some carefully chosen aesthetic bathroom buys. Try some interior design apps to help you visualise your concepts, and then take a look at these 9 easy ways to get started on your Boho bathroom revamp.
Make a Statement (Piece of Furniture).
Your bathroom is essentially a blank canvas or box. So, the quickest way to get the Boho Chic look and style is with a statement piece of furniture that instantly makes a room feel comfortable and brings life into the space. This could be something as simple as a stunning mirror*, or an unusual vanity unit* or bathtub.
Or, it could even be something like plumbing in an old-school telephone booth as your shower area! It’s about creating one focal point in the room — and it doesn’t have to be a typical item found within most bathrooms either.
Go Au Naturel
Natural materials and textures will help create a feeling of being outside. Think natural stone tiles that mimic the look and feel of rocks, or even a concrete-effect wall. You could also choose wooden flooring (just make sure it’s treated for any potential water spillages), furniture, and accessories for the same effect.
Beauty is in the Floor of the Beholder
Boho bathroom decor ideas are all about fun and flair, such as patterned flooring. If you’re using a bold wall colour, use a flooring that either coordinates with your wall colour or is in the same family.
For example, if you have an orange brick wall in your bathroom then using a wood-effect tile would work really well as it will be both complementary and contrasting. Alternatively, if you have a pale pink or blue-grey scheme going on, then opting for something like slate tiles could be perfect.
Colour Me Happy
Earthy tones like sandy beige, warm terracotta, and soft muted greens are widely favoured in Boho bathroom decor as they evoke a sense of natural beauty and tranquillity. Additionally, rich jewel tones such as deep turquoise, vivid emerald, and luxurious plum can add a touch of opulence and depth to the space.
These bold hues can be incorporated through accent walls, tiles, or accessories if you don’t want them to be too overwhelming. Or you could try a mix of colours and floral prints, geometric motifs, or ethnic-inspired patterns to create a playful and visually captivating Boho bathroom – it’s your personal space after all.
Rug It Right
If you want to add a touch of warmth and texture, one of the most popular decor choices for a Boho bathroom is a neutral-toned cotton rug*. The hard wearing natural fibres offer a rustic and earthy feel, perfectly complementing the bohemian aesthetic. Alternatively, you could opt for a Moroccan rug* with a vibrant pattern and rich colours for a more global and eclectic vibe.
Your Little Green Friends
The right plants can add a touch of natural beauty and a calming atmosphere, but choosing plants that thrive in humid and low-light conditions is key. Try a Boston Fern*, with its delicate fronds cascading down from a hanging planter, to create a lush and vibrant focal point. Or you could hang Spider Plants*, known for their air-purifying qualities and graceful, arching leaves, from hooks and macramé hangers.
Pothos Plants* with their heart-shaped leaves also feature trailing vines that can be draped around mirrors or woven through wall baskets. And the low-maintenance Peace Lily* with her elegant white blooms and glossy dark leaves thrives in low-light condition and requires very little care.
Curtain Call
High on the list of enduringly-popular Boho bathroom decor ideas for window treatments are bamboo blinds, a natural and eco-friendly option that provides a warm, diffused light. Another excellent option is macramé curtains as their charmingly intricate and handmade designs also allow a gentle flow of light. Or, for a more vibrant and eclectic look, you could go for colourful patterned curtains, such as those with tribal prints* or geometric designs*. And if you don’t have a window, why not go for a colourful, patterned shower curtain* instead?
Let There Be Light
Make your home come to life with Bohemian inspired lighting such as Moroccan bathroom lights, macramé wall hanging lights, exotic pendant lamps, vintage light fixtures, retro inspired light fixtures, and mid-century modern lamps. I recommend heading over to Etsy for some fabulously quirky lighting inspiration*. Or, for a uniquely personal touch, why not make your own upcycled mason jar pendant lamp, or driftwood lampshade chandel – check out Pinterest for a host of DIY projects.
And don’t forget some scented candles, which are an easy way to infuse your bathroom with soft lighting and soothing aromas without making any permanent changes.
Wrapping Up
Probably the easiest and quickest way to transform your bathroom into a relaxing oasis is with some carefully chosen bath linen sets.
Whether you opt for 100% cotton patterned bath sheets*, 100% organic cotton Turkish beach-style towels* (my favourite), or brightly coloured Egyptian Cotton Linens* to create the perfect environment for relaxation and rejuvenation, just make sure they’re super soft for that final luxurious touch in your newly revamped Bohemian bathroom.

Annoyingly, of all the rooms in the house, we’re not redecorating our bathrooms much. They don’t REALLY need it but nor are they particularly pretty (just standard, grey, no personality haha). I’d love to have a full bathroom re-vamp one day, I love Boho design, especially all the plants and the wood.
I know what you mean, I’m itching to get cracking with our bathrooms too, but I have to wait for the full revamp – bringing on the plants in the meantime though 🙂
This is great list, the light is important and candles is good as well. Thank you for sharing!
Glad you found it helpful 🙂
I love these boho bathroom decor ideas, lighting and candles is so important! x

Thank you, Lucy 🙂
Some great ideas here. I love the idea of having plants in the bathroom! There’s not really a lot of room for them in ours!

I used to hang some from hooks in the ceiling in our old bathroom, rather than take up shelf space!
love this post! We have a plant in our bathroom and it really sets for mood. I also have a lovely wooden bath tray, which I love!
Oh, I’ve seen wooden bath trays before, they look so stylish!
Love that first photo! The bathtub, the mood, the neutral tones, the candles, big windows . . . that would be my style, with a few plants as well. Shame my bathroom is tiny. But I’m planning to decorate it soon-ish so I might take some inspiration!
Even tiny bathrooms have room for a few plants – ceiling hooks are a great option! Thank you, glad you enjoyed the post.
I love the idea of a boho bathroom! I’m obsessed with houseplants so I’d love to get some more of those into my bathroom – currently, I just have two orchids in there, but I think a spider plant or Boston fern would look really good.
Oh, they would be perfect bathroom plants, both love humidity 🙂
I love this style of interior design. I love earthy tones and natural materials, so this is well my vibe. We’ll be redoing our bathroom at some point, probably next year now, but this is the type of thing we’ll be going for.

Oh that’s great, hope you’ll share pics of your bathroom revamp – before and after!
Gorgeous decors makes a heavenly bathroom. Bathroom is a place of calming and self-care. It’s important to make it cozy and nice. Thank you for sharing your tips.
Thank you, Fadima, you’re right, it has to be cozy and welcoming!
I really wish I could do something like this with my bathroom as it’s the standard (rather dull) rental property decor that has very little thought put into it (think brown, beige( plus it is very, very small. However, I can change the curtain and get a better rug! Thanks for the ideas; I definitely need to do something to brighten it all up!
I know I keep saying this but plants make a HUGE difference – from hooks on the wall and ceiling. Worst case scenario, if you have no windows, even fake plants would give some life to a rental 🙂
I love the boho style, but now I have added a few things to my life. Thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you.
These are such great suggestions. I am looking forward to having my own place so I can decorate different rooms. Thank you for sharing these suggestions and things to think about.
