6 Reasons Why Staying in a Majorca Villa is Better Than a Hotel *

16th September 2024      Lisa      14 Comments

AD | Majorca, the jewel of the Balearic Islands, has been enchanting travelers for years with its stunning beaches, vibrant culture, and choice of experiences. While staying in a hotel might seem like the easy option, choosing a villa holiday in Majorca is the icing on the Ensaimada that can transform your trip into an unforgettable bespoke experience. But before you choose your Majorca villa, let’s take a closer look at some of the benefits to booking your holiday in this part of the Mediterranean.

Why Choose to Holiday in Majorca?

Majorca (also known as Mallorca) offers something for everyone – couples, families, and groups alike – and its climate welcomes you at any time of year. With stunning beaches such as Playa de Muro and Cala Millor you can relax, swim, or enjoy water sports, plus there are ample opportunities for boat trips and snorkeling in the crystal clear, warm waters.

Further inland, you can explore the island’s vibrant markets or visit attractions like Palma’s historic cathedral and the famous Caves of Drach. Adventure seekers and fitness enthusiasts can hike in the Serra de Tramuntana mountains or cycle along scenic coastal routes.

And foodies are spoilt for choice with local dishes such as Sobrassada (cured, spicy chorizo sausage), Panades (baked cheese-stuffed pastries), Tumbet (baked, layered vegetables), lots of appetizing soups and robust meat dishes, and all the fresh fruit, vegetables, and seafood you could wish for. As well as the traditional sugar and vanilla loaf cake, the Ensaimada.

The Benefits of Staying in a Majorca Villa

Unlimited Space and Privacy

Let’s face it, sharing your holiday with a crowd of strangers isn’t everyone’s idea of bliss. In a hotel, you’re often dodging other guests for a turn on the pool lounger or whispering in corridors. When you book a villa, however, you get to sprawl out in private luxury, completely on your own terms.

You can enjoy multiple bedrooms and living areas, and relax in your private garden or pool without anyone trying to claim your spot. Your suitcase has the right to explode all over your room without judgment and, best of all, no awkward waits outside shared bathrooms.

Total Control of Your Schedule

Imagine wanting a midnight swim under the stars, but the hotel pool closed hours ago. At a villa, the schedule revolves entirely around you. Fancy a late breakfast on the terrace followed by a dip in the pool? Go for it!

Villas offer the flexibility to eat, swim, and explore whenever the mood strikes, making it perfect for night owls, early risers, and anyone in between. Dine out at local gems, or cook up fresh finds from the market at your leisure. Goodbye, rigid breakfast slots, and hello, freedom!

Authentic Majorcan Experience

Stay like a local with a villa nestled in quieter spots away from the throng of tourist traps. Hotels tend to occupy the most popular areas, filled with buffet lines serving “authentic” dishes that somehow scream British rather than Balearic.

When staying in a villa, you’re free to explore Majorca’s local markets or enjoy a meal at a tucked-away bistro that locals swear by. You can engage with the island’s culture more intimately and uncover hidden charms that only reveal themselves off the beaten path.

Perfect for Families and Groups

Traveling with friends or family? A villa is your ultimate base camp. Unlike booking separate hotel rooms, a villa gathers everyone under one cozy roof, letting you share laughter, meals, and lazy lounging sessions together.

Modern villas often come equipped with fabulous extras like private pools, games rooms, and ample lounging areas, making them ideal for creating shared memories. Everyone gets their own room for downtime, but communal spaces invite togetherness when you all feel like regrouping.

Cost-Effectiveness That Makes Sense

Think a villa is going to burn a hole in your pocket? Think again! While hotels charge by room, villas offer a flat rate that can be shared among your group. A four-bedroom villa divided among eight guests could turn out cheaper than several separate hotel rooms.

Plus, when you add up all the conveniences and extra amenities, those savings are the cherry on top. You’re living in luxury without the luxury price tag.

An Exceptional Concierge Experience

One integral element to a Majorcan villa escape is the exceptional concierge service that accompanies many villa bookings, like the one from Majorca Villa Finder. Imagine having all your desires met without lifting a finger; from airport transfers and pre-stocked groceries to curated excursions across the island, their team is dedicated to making your trip seamless and unforgettable.

Planning a special occasion like a proposal or pre-wedding celebration? They’ve got you covered with everything from decorations to proposals orchestrated perfectly. Their assistance extends to providing reliable babysitting services, pool fencing for peace of mind, and even a private chef to spoil you rotten. If you dream it, Majorca Villa Finder’s concierge service can bring it to life!

So, does a holiday on the largest of the Balearics sound like the one for you? Have you ever been to Majorca? If yes, did you stay in a villa? If not, would you consider booking one for your next trip now?

That’s it exactly – privacy and flexibility to do what you like when you like – it’s why we always try and stay in villas when we go away. And I quite agree about Majorca, it looks fabulous!

Absolutely, villas are perfect for large groups (although they work just fine for a family of three too!)

I agree with all of these reasons and will always make a strong recommendation for a villa over hotel where there are bigger families/larger groups involved. Cost effective and private. Certainly more freeing. Sometimes the location can be even more idyllic than the hotel or just as idyllic as the hotel but costs less.

Had a little look, they’ve got quite the collection and rates for all purses too!

oh I love the idea of staying in a villa rather than a hotel. I much prefer an intimate, relaxing holiday so this would be perfect. Maybe I’ll convince S that it’s what we’re doing next holiday haha.

I find that if I offer an alternative I know Alan won’t want, that makes my first choice a lot easier to agree too!
