AD | Honey, honey… as a keen gardener, I’m well aware of the importance of pollinators in our garden and orchard. In fact, one of my gardening goals is to have a hive and harvest my own honey in the future. Partly because I want to help our honey bees, who have to visit two million flowers to make just one pound of honey. And partly because there are so many honey benefits for health from this amazing all-natural product that’s been around for thousands of years. And following on from this, have you heard of CBD honey? It’s a relative newcomer, so let’s take a look at some of the benefits of CBD honey. But first…
Contents
Benefits of honey – what can I use honey for?
Who hasn’t experienced the taste of this delicious natural sweetener? Additionally, honey contains a wide array of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants. Here are a few health benefits of honey you might not know:
- a completely natural antiseptic, honey was smeared thickly over wounds in the old days to help them heal faster
- drinking tea or warm lemon water mixed with honey will help soothe a sore throat. In fact I keep a jar of Manuka honey on standby for Flora for that very reason.
- using honey in skincare will help moisturise and soothe any chapped skin, inflammation or soreness
Benefits of CBD – what is CBD?
CBD stands for Cannabidiol, a legal compound with less than 3% of the narcotic THC, that’s extracted from the plant Cannabis Sativa. And this CBD oil can interact with the naturally occurring cannabis-like receptors in our bodies’ regulatory systems, without causing a psychoactive effect. Receptors are mainly present in the brain — where they’re involved with cognition, memory, motor skills and pain — but also in the peripheral nervous system, liver, thyroid, uterus and more. So although the exact way CBD affects our bodies is still unknown, scientists think it encourages the body to produce more of its own endocannabinoids, which may help reduce anxiety, pain and inflammation.
In recent times, CBD has helped to treat many different health conditions including:
- anxiety and depression
- sleep disorders
- seizures in people with epilepsy
- pain and inflammation
- heart health
What are the benefits of CBD honey?
The majority of users take CBD in oral spray or drops form, but why not take it in honey? Marrying CBD with honey super charges an already beneficial, natural superfood for even more benefits. And eating CBD infused honey is not only more efficient, it’s yummier too! Whether you use it before bed to aid restful sleep, or first thing in the morning, perhaps drizzled over porridge oats, or simply spread on toast.
So, here are just a few of the combined benefits you could enjoy from the best CBD infused honey, which could help both your mental health and your physical well being:
- a source of natural energy
- a natural boost to your body’s endocannabinoids to help ease anxiety
- a natural sleep aid
- an powerful antioxidant
- an aid to help improve blood flow and alleviate high blood pressure
- a possible aid to regulate cholesterol levels
- an aid to reduce inflammation, especially at easing the pain and discomfort of ulcers
- a cough aid
- a burns healer
- a powerful antibacterial – refer to your history and apply it topically to any wounded area, before covering with a bandage. The CBD honey will be absorbed into the skin and release its antibiotic properties.
Where can I buy CBD honey?
If CBD honey sounds like something you’d be keen to experience, then do make sure you get it from a supplier that uses a certified organic, natural CBD additive to infuse their honey. Like Haughton Honey whose jars of delicious British wildflower CBD infused honey contain a medicinal dose of 1% pure British-made CBD oil. As well as the full range of naturally occurring terpenes (flavours and aromas) from all the plants, which researchers believe also protect plants by warding off pests, fungi, and infections.
Regular readers of my blog may recall I’ve written before about how our bodies repair themselves while we sleep. So taking two teaspoons stirred in to warm milk, ideally an hour or so before bedtime (according to happy Haughton Honey customer feedback), makes perfect sense. And if you need any further convincing, I’ll leave the last word on honey to Britain’s national poet. Because not for nothing did Shakespeare praise the “honey-heavy dew of slumber.” 🙂
Are you a fan of honey? Have you ever taken any CBD products before? Do you think you’d like to try some CBD honey as an all-natural aid to help boost both your mental health and physical well being?

It’s still relatively new, I think, but yes, it’s a great pairing – hope you can try some soon 🙂

I literally have a bottle of honey next to my computer because I just randomly crave it through out the day. I’d love to try CBD honey but everything I’ve eaten that was CBD infused tasted awful, and this is coming from someone who grew up smoking weed in ways you could taste it lol.
I have yet to find a food with CBD that masks the flavor!
Lisa says
Oh, well, I think CBD honey would be perfect then – the natural sweetness is a great flavour mask!

Fascinating review. My diet is mostly vegan, with the exception of honey though. At the same time, because it is so sweet, in practice I rarely eat it. That being said, I’m very intrigued by the CBD honey and I will look into this. So far I haven’t tried a CBD produce, but I would.
Lisa says
Oh thank you so much, Anca. I hope you do find CBD honey beneficial if you do try it – do let me know!
Jenny in Neverland says
I’m vaguely familiar on the benefits of honey – I don’t like the taste of it but I do take it if I need to. I can’t take CBD at the moment due to the medication I’m on but it’s something I’d consider down the line!
Lisa says
Oh no, how can you not like honey! But I hope you do change your mind if you try some in due course 🙂

We buy our honey from a local beekeeper in five gallon buckets and use it in teas, baking, and medicine. Pouring honey over herbs like tulsi or ginger and turmeric makes for an amazingly flavored spoonful!
I love the sounds of this CBD honey; I have never heard of it before but think I would much rather have CBD in honey rather than in a spray. Thanks for sharing!
Lisa says
Five gallons?! Oh wow, Jaya, that’s amazing – lucky you. What a wonderful way to take your herbs and medicine 🙂
Nancy says
I’ve used CBD before but not CBD honey. This is totally new to me. Love that this is a two-in-one where you benefit from both ingredients. I definitely need to give this a try – especially with CBD being seamlessly infused. Thanks for sharing about this!

I knew honey & CBD were beneficial, but I didn’t know about CBD honey! I have tried CBD oil before, but I didn’t like the taste so I stopped taking it, but CBD honey seems the way to go especially since it will be tastier!
