AD | Caravan holidays have always been popular here in the UK. They’re often significantly cheaper than holidays abroad and when sun’s shining, there’s really no place like home for a relaxing break. Booking a caravan holiday can be the perfect way to enjoy the spring and summer months, whilst getting to explore a whole new location on your doorstep in one of the UK’s many caravan holiday parks. If you’ve never enjoyed a caravan holiday before, here’s a guide on what to expect before you book your next staycation!
Why are UK Caravan Holiday Parks So Good?
With over 6,200 sites to choose from, there’s bound to be a wide range of caravan park holiday venues that suit your needs – and in many of them, dogs can come too. As well as providing great accommodation and amenities, they offer plenty of activities for guests of all ages to stay fit and healthy on holiday. Here are some of the reasons why you should book your next holiday at a UK caravan park.
Affordable Accommodation
You can stay in a caravan for an affordable price and enjoy all of the amenities that come with it. You can also stay in a static home or camp for less than you would pay at other accommodation options such as hotels or B&Bs. If you want even more space and comfort, then renting out one of the parks’ chalets or lodges is another great option that won’t break the bank.
Great Facilities
It’s important to know what will be available when you arrive on site and how to access those facilities. Each caravan park is different, but typically these are the things you can expect to find:
Toilet block – alongside the bathroom(s) in your caravan, there will usually be a designated building for toilets and baby changing. Double check with your destination if this includes disabled facilities.
Laundry – if not provided with your caravan, there should be a location on site for you to wash your clothing items.
Waste disposable area – so you don’t leave any rubbish in your caravan when leaving the holiday, a space will be allotted for all waste and recycling.
Activities For All
With fun for all ages and the entire family, some sites will have a shared swimming pool – possibly indoor or outdoor – so make sure you pack your swimming costumes and towels. If sites do have a pool, check before arriving if there are any events going on for the children, or water sport activities, as these may get booked up fast and you don’t want to them miss out on the fun.
It’s highly likely your park will have some kind of sports going on, for adults or children, during your stay. Depending on the location, these could include fishing, archery, cycle hire, golf, arts and crafts, and even segways. Again, make sure you check which activities are available and book in advance if you can.
Home From Home
Whilst you’re away, you might want to eat out some days, but one of the best things about having a caravan is that you can cook in your own mini home. The kitchen in your caravan will typically come with a fridge, so you can store all of your cold goods. Some of these fridges will be accompanied by a built-in freezer shelf, but this can depend on your caravan type. An oven with a hob above means you’re able to serve a fry up by morning and a lovely home cooked meal for dinner. Most caravan sites also have a designated BBQ area, where you can spend your evenings flipping burgers whilst watching the sunset.
Which Park Will You Choose?
So, now you have more of an understanding of what to expect when you arrive on your chosen site, if you’re looking for a fun, affordable holiday in the UK, then a caravan park makes a great staycation choice, don’t you think? Caravan holiday parks offer everything from accommodation to activities and make great dog friendly holidays too. They’re also perfect if you still want access to all of the comforts of home such as cooking facilities or laundry service. With so much fun to be had and such a wide choice of locations to choose from, where will you be going for your next caravan holiday?

I would love to visit the UK one day, and caravan holiday parks sound like such a fun way to explore! I love that they have a laundry option available, too!
The laundry option is ideal for us mums, haha!
