How a Portable Massage Gun Can Quickly Alleviate Your Stress *

5th September 2021      Lisa      50 Comments

AD | One of the biggest challenges many of us face today is coping with stress. Mental and emotional strain can lead to feelings of physical debilitation if not managed carefully. But over-the-counter drugs may be unsuitable for a variety of reasons, and we can’t all afford regular physio sessions or massages. So a portable massage gun like the ExoGun DreamPro just might be an ideal practical solution. Easy to use and effective too, it delivers soothing percussive therapy to help your body wind down and relax, boosting mental wellness at the same time.

What is Percussion Therapy and how does it work?

Percussion massage mimics the motions of a physical therapist and boosts muscle function and recovery by penetrating deep into the muscle tissue with a series of rapid, concentrated pulsating strokes. And you get a wonderful deep tissue massage to help melt away all that tension and stress. Professional athletes have been harnessing the power of percussion therapy to reduce recovery times and prevent injury for years. And now, thanks to a growing portable massage gun range, we can as well.

portable-massage-gun-man

Founded by a team of engineers and athletes dedicated to improving performance and recovery for sportspeople, the ExoGun can strike the muscles up to 30 times per second, penetrating soft muscle tissue and instantly increasing blood flow to muscles, relieving tension, and reducing pain. Perfect if you’re suffering from stress or chronic muscle issues, such as spasms, strains, tension, and acute injuries. Regular use can help restore your range of movement, alleviate pain, loosen up fascia, and improve blood circulation. It can even help prevent scar tissue too, so it keeps achy joints from turning into recurring problems. Best of all, percussion massage can also increase range of motion and enhance performance in as little as a few days of use.

Will a portable massage gun help with sciatic pain?

Yes, it will, which is something that I wish I’d known about when I had pregnancy-related sciatica, which incapacitated me for nearly two years. Apparently, the percussive motion of the massage gun works to relax the muscles surrounding the sciatic nerve, and helps release the agonising pressure on that nerve.

Customisability for different muscle groups

One of the best things about the ExoGun is its customisability. It’s an all-in-one massager that offers both the benefits of a professional percussion massage and the tension-melting, relaxation benefits of a deep-tissue massage. With 4 interchangeable massage heads and 6 speed settings to choose from, the ExoGun DreamPro can deliver the right intensity no matter the body type, muscle group, or massage preference of the user.

portable-massage-gun-exogun

  • Ballhead – the default attachment and the one you’ll probably use most often. It’s extremely beneficial due to its ability to massage larger muscles, so one of the best post-workout tools for recovery.
  • Bullethead – is an intense attachment with high settings. It delivers focused percussion to specific tight muscles or smaller areas.
  • Flathead – is a less intensive shape that works well for large muscle groups. As it doesn’t hurt when bumping a joint or bone, it’s an excellent starting point for glutes and areas of a similar size.
  • Forkhead – is divided into two sections specifically designed to target muscles connecting to your spine. It percusses these delicate areas without bumping your spine and causing injuries. The shape is also practical for massaging sore calves.

Is the ExoGun easy to use?

A powerful weapon against stress and a handy muscle pain relief machine, you can use the ExoGun DreamPro portable massage gun on even the most sensitive and sore regions without harming the muscles, making it a safe yet highly effective device. And to switch from an intense percussive massage to a relaxing deep-tissue massage, you simply adjust the speed and change the massager head.

So, whether you feel pain or stress at home, at the office, or on the road, you can take this cordless, lightweight gadget with you. With up to 6 hours battery life, you can carry it anywhere – in your backpack while out running, in your briefcase at work, or in the car to use when picking your kids up from school, or doing the supermarket run.

A nifty gadget for a healthier lifestyle

Such versatility makes the ExoGun ideal for a wide variety of people, including busy parents, sedentary office workers, and the elderly. It can help pave the way for speedy recovery from injuries and keep anxiety and stress in check. Portable, adjustable, and powerful, you can take it wherever you need it, and put the power of percussion massage treatment to help you manage stress in your own hands.

Have you ever experienced a deep tissue massage or percussive therapy as a way of alleviating stress before? Do you think a portable massage gun is something that you’d like to try using at home now?

I’ve seen a lot of these kinds of massage tools around but never though about trying one – it looks a bit scary to be honest, I prefer gentle massage, haha! I do have a couple massage tools I was taught how to use for my knee injury by the physio – they came in really helpful with the lockdown last year so I assume something like this would be good for someone who needs deeper massage at home! 🙂 I’ll just stick with the balls and rollers I have, haha!

Hope you had a great weekend 🙂 We enjoyed the warmer weather which was good as it’s another cold spring day today!

I know, when I first saw the gun I was a little taken aback – guns and massage don’t naturally go together in my mind! But actually when you find out more you realise what a good gadget it is, perfect for professional treatments at home 🙂

I would absolutely LOVE one of these. I get a lot of shoulder and back pain which isn’t helped by sitting at a desk all day. I go for massages regularly (I actually went for one today) but I’d love this to use in between!

Yes, I’m the same, which is why it would be so good for people who sit at a desk all day – in addition to rather than instead of a massage though, obviously! 🙂

I have one of these and I didn’t use it properly (pushed too hard/overused — shows you how stressed I was at the time, haha) and I hurt a nerve and injured myself. I now know better and it does help relieve the strain and tension in my upper back and shoulders and ease aches from exercising. I hadn’t considered having it as a portable device so that’s something may look into!

I know from my sister these types of massage guns are very popular among dancers and gymnasts. I have seen them used on tired feet and calves in ballerinas and heard amazing things about their benefits from athletes.
Love that you run over some of the benefits of this kind of massage gun! The forkhead looks especially handy.

🌈 Our beloved hobo has taken his last journey. Yes 🌈 Our beloved hobo has taken his last journey. Yesterday evening we had to say farewell to Ginger at nearly 21 years old.

13 years ago he wandered into our greenhouse and decided ours was his new home. So many memories:

😻 He saw us through Buzz, Lily, and Jester, and the arrivals of Spooky, Loki, and Lyra.
😻 Always the most chilled cat, not interested in fighting any other cats, ours or visitors.
😻 Greediest cat ever, not even willing to share with the resident hedgehogs. He could hear the sound of someone walking into the kitchen from 5 miles away.
😻 An inveterate bin diver – our neighbours got used to seeing their recycling spread across the road after he’d gone searching for food.
😻 Always commandeering the warmest spot in the garden or house.
😻 Putting up with Spooky always seeking him out and snuggling up with him.
😻Somehow generating more heat than a volcano, so we could never tolerate him on our laps for more than 10 minutes, we’d have to move him next to us instead.
😻 Always knowing when any of us needed comfort or company and snuggling up to offer purring support.

RIP, Ginger, thank you for choosing us, we were privileged to have you as part of our family, and you leave the biggest hole in all our hearts. 😿
