Versatile Blogger Award Tag

25th January 2018      Lisa      22 Comments

After being kindly nominated by both Rebecca’s Reviews and Life with KT Kinnes for the Versatile Blogger award (thank you so much, ladies <3 ) I thought I’d better get organised and respond! As most of you know by now, I love these tag posts, they’re always so much fun.

Contents

  • 1. What is the Versatile Blogger Award?
  • 2. Seven facts about me
  • 3. My nominations

What is the Versatile Blogger Award?

It’s a way of finding out more about bloggers that you may already know and follow, and also supporting other bloggers – win, win. The rules are very simple:

  1. Thank and link the person (people) who nominated you
  2. Share seven facts about yourself
  3. Nominate 15 other bloggers for this award.

Seven facts about me

  1. This may be a little TMI to start off with but here goes. Although I’m really quite shy, after three bottles of wine I jumped my husband on our first date. Thank you, Pinot Grigio, we’ve been together for over 20 years now.
  1. Despite what my monthly gardening posts may lead you to believe, I knew nothing about gardening – zero, zilch, nada – until we moved to our current house. I now have a garden and orchard to play with but it’s been a steep learning curve!
  1. I trained as a Beauty Specialist many years ago (make up, waxing, manicures, pedicures, eye/lash brow tinting, facials). To this day I still absolutely love treating people but I hate receiving treatments myself.
  1. I failed my driving test four times before I eventually passed. I shudder to think how much money my poor mother had to shell out for me.
  1. Blondie’s The Tide is High was the first single I ever bought – how cool is that?
  1. I’m not scared of mice or birds (having rescued far too many from our cats over the years) but spiders on the ceiling above my head at bed time will send me into a panic if my husband isn’t around to remove them.
  1. Coming up with seven facts has been really hard because I don’t think I’m that interesting (for real, I’m not just saying that) but here’s my last: I’m a very, very, very lucky girl.

My nominations

This is always the hardest part of any tag post, there are so many amazing bloggers out there, many of whom have already deservedly been tagged lots of times. So I’m going to tag some bloggers whose content I’ve been loving recently (and whom I hope haven’t already been tagged for this award, apologies if so) – please go and check them out:

  1. Hannah

  8. Amy
  9. Imogen

Hi, I love reading these posts, yes to Pinot and I would never have guessed about the gardening, it’s amazing how a new house can inspire new interests.

Pinot Grigio has a lot to answer for, haha! And thank you for the gardening compliment – I still have so much to learn but I just love it ? x

Honestly, mice and birds aren’t that bad, although their bites/pecks aren’t much fun! I don’t practice treatments on clients anymore, just myself, and occasionally my husband ? I’m so glad you like these posts too, looking forward to reading yours xx

He he, great post Lisa! Your first fact made me laugh as I was exactly the same, although I don’t think the wine was that posh! I’m petrified of mice, Simba brought one in the other day and it scared the life out of me, I don’t think I’ll ever get used to them heh. Four driving attempts isn’t too bad, I passed on my third. Driving tests are hard! Great answers, I enjoyed reading them <3

Thanks for the nomination! I love beauty but hate getting treatments too. I’m either paranoid I’m going to react to something or thinking something along the lines of ‘you’ve been touching me at least 5 minutes now. Please stop’

When I was in college (16/17) my first year English teacher was newly qualified and only 21. He once told us that he failed his test TEN times before he passed and his parents paid for all of it. No number of fails has managed to shock me since ?

Thank you ? I’m so relieved to hear you took three goes for your test, makes me feel less guilty, haha. And the mice our cats bring in are really cute – small, brown and furry, although they bite incredibly hard for such small jaws! X

I loved reading these facts, you’re much more interesting and entertaining than you give yourself credit for haha!
Also I am cackling at the pinot grigio story, it’s a bit similar to how I got together with my own husband so I definitely appreciate it.
Also buying Blondie is a lot cooler than me – my first single was definitely Spice Girls haha.

Aw, thank you, you really are the kindest lady! And how funny that you and Blair got together under similar circumstances, makes me feel better ? If I weren’t such a granny I would probably have bought a Spice Girls record too, just not Wannabe, which I hate (sorry) xx

Haha, I’ve never had to shift out of my bed for a spider – if Alan’s not around I throw cushions at the ceiling to bring it down and then a towel over the top – no mercy, I’m afraid! xx
