It’s been SUCH a long time since I did a blogger tag! And what better way to dive back into blogging after a few weeks’ break than with this uber fun and popular 73 Things About Me tag, based on the Vogue 73 questions video interview series. Samantha over at Stressed Mum very kindly tagged me in her post (do go and check it out) so in no particular order, here we go. Tip: sit down with something to nibble or sip before you start 😉
1. What is your usual Starbucks order?
I’m not a Starbucks fan but I’d usually go for a single shot latte, otherwise I have to be peeled off the ceiling from the caffeine hit.
2. What does your workstation look like right now?
I really wish I could say it’s the one in the cover picture but it’s not. I’m a freelancer and have also very recently started a new part-time job, so I have a laptop, MacBook Pro, Dell monitor, two mouse (mice?) and a keyboard to juggle with. Plus all my paperwork and pens of course.
3. All time favourite food?
Cheese.
Gerald Seymour, Laini Taylor, Antonia Fraser, Philip Pullman, Pat Barker, Hilary Mantel. Can’t restrict myself to just one, sorry, there are too many fabulous authors out there.
5. What do you think of open relationships?
Nope.
6. Favourite video game?
Erm, I don’t play video games but I do remember the original Tetris, which was fun but frustrating (mainly due to the perennial queue to get on the machine…)
7. Guilty pleasure treat?
Going riding. Guilty because I’m always so stiff for the next few days that I’m of no practical use whatsover!
8. Favourite film?
How To Train Your Dragon 3 (currently, anyway).
9. Favourite book?
Wolf Hall – Hilary Mantel.
10. Twitter or Instagram?
Twitter.
11. Desktop or laptop?
Laptop.
12. Best advice you’ve ever received?
Today’s news is tomorrow’s fish and chips wrapping.

I’m doing it – and yes, I know how very lucky I am, but… a lot of hard work, learning and sacrifice has gone into getting me to where I am now.

Not if I could avoid it.

Yes, a BA in English and Drama.

British.
20. What is your favourite kind of blog post to do?
Beauty reviews, gardening posts and lifestyle content.
21. What do you like to collect?
Lipsticks and nail polishes, which I rarely use but enjoy taking out of the drawers to admire.
22. Describe yourself in 3 words?
Organised, kind, creative.
23. If you were a rapper what would your rapper name be?
I have no idea, haha.
24. Who was the last person you DMed?
My husband, Alan.
25. What’s on the top of your wish list right now?
A swimming pool.
26. Hogwarts House?
No idea, I’m not a Harry Potter fan. But if you asked me about HTTYD, I’d say a Night Fury or a Deadly Nadder.
27. How many tattoos do you have?
One, although I would like to get a couple more when I decide what I want.
28. What are you most grateful for this year?
My husband and daughter, Flora.
29. What’s the best thing that’s happened to you this month?
Starting my new part-time job and knowing we’re off to Cornwall at the end of the month, yay!
30. What’s the best thing that’s happened to you today?
Sitting outside in the sunshine with a cup of tea and three purring cats.
31. What’s the best thing ever?
Hearing Flora laugh.

Summer.

Kalkan, Turkey.

Hercules. Although he only had Twelve Labours so…

No.

Not especially.

Not sure what often entails but usually every day.

Something I haven’t cooked.

Salt.

Anything that’s in the fridge.

Pass, I have a fear of public speaking so this would be a complete no-no.

The How To Train Your Dragon series.
49. What has a guy done or said to impress you?
Alan is a vast resource of knowledge on things I know nothing about. So pretty much anything he comes out with impresses me. Plus he mixes a mean gin and tonic.
50. Best thing to do on a first date?
Get me drunk. I kid you not, it worked like a charm, and we’re married now 🙂
51. Worst thing to do on a first date?
Eat garlic.
52. What’s the funniest pickup line a guy can use on a girl?
I do a mean naked breakfast, you’d love it. (This only works if he looks like Ian Somerhalder though).
53. Best comic book character?
Loki.
54. What are the three things that are always in your handbag?
Phone, wallet, keys, and endless amounts of Flora’s crap essential stuff.
55. Favourite drink?
A Tanqueray Sevilla gin and tonic.
56. If you could play an historical character who would it be?
Anne Boleyn.
57. Kittens or puppies?
Kittens.
58. Favourite sushi roll?
A seafood one.
59. What kind of lipstick do you use?
I prefer a balm but I cannot stand gloss. My hair always gets stuck to it 🙁
60. What kind of foundation do you use?
Bare Minerals powder foundation. I can adjust it according to how much coverage I need and it’s lightweight enough that I don’t feel clogged up.
61. Blow dry or air dry?
Air dry – I have curly hair and if I blow dry it I look like I’ve stuck my finger in an electrical socket…
62. Who is your fashion icon?
I don’t know that she’s a fashion icon but I love Helen Mirren, who always manages to look classy, stylish and sexy with effortless confidence.
63. Favourite Disney character?
Robin Hood.
64. What are you doing tomorrow?
Working in the morning and going out with Flora in the afternoon.
65. Movie you laughed the hardest through?
Cannonball Run.
66. Movie that made you cry?

67. If you could sing a duet with someone who would it be?
I am tone-deaf so would never inflict my singing on anyone.

Love this! This is such a fun way of getting to know a blogger and I have to agree with you that How to Train you Dragon is one of the best animations! I loved the third film so much!

I love to collect nail polish and lip gloss too. I just wish I would use them instead of the sitting on my dresser.

How to train your dragon is one of my favourite films and I find it hard to choose between them all for my favourite one. Toothless is too cute! I love these kind of posts as it helps you to find out more about the person behind the blog.

I’ll admit I’ve never seen How to Train your Dragon but have heard so many good things about it. “Today’s news is tomorrow’s fish and chips wrapping” is a great quote and so true.
