AD – GIFTED | I’m no stranger to taking health supplements when I feel a little down or sluggish. While I’m well aware of the importance of a balanced diet, staying hydrated, and taking some exercise (always on my carry forward), I’m not ashamed to look for help either. But I’ve never taken a specific beauty supplement before, so I was highly intrigued by the chance to try a 30-day supply of LQ Collagen Skin, Hair & Nails*. Could these marine collagen wellness shots really make any difference?
LQ Collagen
LQ Collagen* (formerly LQ Liquid Health) supplements are scientifically formulated and manufactured by Nutraformis, an award-winning UK registered company, which takes its cues from Japan and the Far East. Nutraformis liquid collagen supplements are prevalent in Asia and offer significant advantages over pills. They can contain substantially more key ingredients, are absorbed into the bloodstream more quickly and are much easier to consume.
LQ Collagen Skin Hair & Nails
Over the past month, I’ve been swallowing daily 50ml liquid LQ Collagen wellness shots that are formulated to build collagen to support and maintain healthy skin, hair & nails. So, what’s actually inside this beauty cocktail?
Ingredients
- 7000mg Marine Collagen – a natural protein and a key building block of the skin. As we age, we produce less and less collagen, which is the holy grail for promoting plumper and healthier looking skin.
- Hyaluronic Acid – often known as ‘Nature’s moisturiser’, it’s something you see in many moisturisers and creams as it’s a fabulous hydration aid.
- Resveratrol – a key beauty ingredient extracted from red grapes. Many well-known French skincare brands are famous for using it in their products.
- Biotin (Vitamin B7) – contributes to the maintenance of normal hair and skin.
- Vitamin C – contributes to collagen formation and anti-oxidant protection.
- Vitamin E – contributes to anti-oxidant protection.
- Selenium – contributes to the maintenance of normal hair and skin.
- Silicon – choline-stabilised orthosilicic acid, a source of silicon found in hair, skin, nails.
Other ingredients in these marine collagen wellness shots include: passion fruit concentrate, citric acid, and sweeteners. So a pretty powerful shot of good stuff to help improve the appearance of your skin, hair and nails. Not forgetting the fact that liquids absorb much faster and more easily than pills too – it’s called bioavailability.
LQ Collagen Skin Hair & Nails benefits
When I read the LQ Collagen reviews on their website, I noticed that they all said any significant benefits are only visible after one to two months. Pretty standard with any supplement really. After nearly four weeks, I haven’t noticed a massive difference in my colour-treated, dry, frizzy, curly hair. Nor have I noticed a real increase in nail strength. Although to be fair, my nails do take a battering in the garden 😉
But… I have noticed a huge improvement in my skin. It’s definitely looking plumper, more radiant, and healthy. Fewer spots and far less dry patches too. Now that could also be down to continued use of my new facial cleanser device, but I do think the LQ Skin, Hair & Nails supplements are certainly due some credit too. Maybe I’ve found my perfect skincare combination after all these years.
One thing I should mention is the taste. It’s very sweet and has a slight kick at the back of the throat on the way down. A little reminiscent of ginger, although I couldn’t find any mention of that in the ingredients list. It’s not unpleasant though, and far more palatable than the liquid cod liver oil I was force fed as a child, one of my mother’s top health and beauty tips, bleurgh.
LQ Collagen supplements – worth it?
As I said, I do take health supplements, including a daily cod liver oil capsule and magnesium tablet to help with my pregnancy-induced slipped disc and mass of sciatic scar tissue. But this is my first experience with marine collagen wellness shots specifically targeted at my skin, hair and nails. And I’ve really enjoyed treating myself, so I don’t think this will be the last time either.
Where can I buy the LQ Collagen supplements?
The LQ Collagen range also includes Joint Care, Heart Care, and Digestive Care, as well as Beauty supplements. You can either buy direct from Amazon*, Boots, or Holland & Barrett.
If you’re looking for something to treat your skin from within, then I think the LQ Collagen supplements are well worth a try. At the time of writing, a month’s supply of Hair, Skin & Nails costs around £60.00 which works out at about £1.99 per day. Not the cheapest supplement on the market, but probably one of the best collagen ones. And more effective ones as it’s in liquid form. Now I’m quite tempted to give the Advanced Skin Care ones a go too 🙂
Do you take any beauty supplements or wellness shots? If so, what have you tried, and how did they work for you?

I’ve never taken any supplements for my skin. But this product seems interesting. The list of ingredients is really good. Although the price is a little high, and I’ll have to save up some money to invest in it. Thanks for the review!
These are the first skin-specific ones I’ve taken too. I didn’t know what to expect but I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised! I’m glad the review was helpful 🙂
This sounds like a really interesting product, I’ve not heard of it before! But it does sound really good so I might have to give it a go as id love to see some nail improvement x

I was so curious to try it, I’d not heard of it before either. The difference in my skin is quite noticeable, although not so much my nails, but as a gardener, they do take quite a hammering so I’m not too surprised, haha x
I had actually heard quite a lot of Liquid Health before! I think i’d be interested in seeing the impact on my hair, although i am sure my skin would greatly benefit from it!
My skin has REALLY benefitted from the supplements. I think my nails probably did too, it’s just that I cane them in the garden so it’s hard to tell!
This sounds like a really good product. Thank you for your great review 🙂
I’m glad it was helpful 🙂
The only liquid supplement I have taken is iron, but it is SO much easier on my stomach than the pills were. For this reason, I’m definitely intrigued by the idea of other liquid supplements. I’ll check the brand out – thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome, yes, I’m a liquid convert now too, so much easier all round!
I remember getting a sample of this with something years ago as a Boots promo and being really confused as to why taking it once would tempt someone to buy it? As I’m sure you know, hair has been a big one for me in recent months and I was so intrigued by this. Sadly they don’t fit with my dietary needs but I’d be very interested in trying them other wise. The vitamins included look so promising x

Ah, I did think of you a few times when I was trialling them, so that’s a real shame about them not being suitable diet-wise 🙁 x
I’ve never heard of this brand before but it intrigues me. I find supplement pills have an adverse effect on my digestive system (IBS) so a liquid version could be ideal. The price does put me off a little though! Thanks for sharing Lisa.
Liquids might well be more sympathetic on your tummy, sorry to hear about your IBS though! Glad you enjoyed the review 🙂
This is a really interesting post, Lisa! I’ve never heard of liquid supplements before but they sound like they have so many health benefits. It’s a nice way to add an extra bit of self-care into your day too 🙂 The ingredients list is pretty impressive, wow, so much good stuff in one shot! It’s brilliant you have noticed a positive different in your skin already, this sounds like something I need right now as I keep getting spots, ughhh. LQ sounds like a great brand to look out for, I’d be curious to see what new products they add to their range in the future. Thanks for sharing and introducing me to something new! Fab post and pretty pictures too! <3 xxx
TBH, neither had I! I assumed it was pills or nothing 🙂 But these have made a real difference to my skin, I’m so impressed. And being liquid, they absorbe much more easily and more effectively too. As I said, I’m very tempted to try out the Skin only range in due course, I don’t want to see all the benefits disappear too quickly, haha xxx
Hi Lisa I know about lq supplements and liquid form I saw in Holland Barrett and today I buy powder one from Holland Barrett I am not sure it’s good or not please guide me as I never used collagen before.
Hi Nayla, thank you for your comment – I’ve tried LQ collagen supplements in both liquid and powder form, the powder more recently. And TBH, I found the powder more effective so you should be good!
