Woodland Adventures from Artemis & Xena: Spring box review

15th February 2018      Lisa      30 Comments

I know I said I was taking a break from subscription boxes but I couldn’t resist these gorgeous Woodland Adventures from Artemis & Xena.  I first came across Artemis & Xena when I saw their fabulous Unicorn box reviewed on Boxes and Swatches blog – after which I had to order my own immediately.  I’m so delighted that their Woodland Adventures box is of an equally high standard, so without further ado, let’s dive in.

Contents

  • 3. Final thoughts

Artemis & Xena

For those who don’t know, the quarterly Artemis & Xena boxes are aimed at teens and women, and focus on well-being, comfort and positivity.  Priced at £19.99 plus P&P, you’re not tied into a subscription, you buy the boxes as a one-off purchase, unless you buy the annual prepay subscription.  The company strongly believes in empowering girls and women and 10% of profits are donated to a women’s charity.  If you don’t want to treat yourself (why on earth not?) then you can always gift a loved one, or just browse their online shop.

First up in the Spring box is this “Do more of what makes you happy” Bear on a Bike tin. It’s so sweet, I can see all kinds of trinkets being stored in there (if Flora doesn’t nab it from me first).  Alongside it is the equally cute metal “Follow your dreams” Fox on a Bike plaque that you could hang anywhere – currently it’s above my desk for daily motivation.  And, yes, the chocolate gold coins came in the box too, although they were demolished the second I finished taking all the photos for this post!

Next up is a lovely little leather Hedgehog manicure set, a Badger nail file (you might get a Bear, Fox or Raccoon), and some voluminous false eyelashes.  I’m useless at applying these so they might be a re-gift but everything else is very handbag worthy – although I’m rather reluctant to use that fab little nail file.

How cute are these four animal coasters? They’re heavy too, made from some kind of resin that looks and feels like stone.  I love the vintage look and feel, and the colours would fit beautifully in any room.

Still on the Indian-style animals, we have these sweet little gift tags – ideal for any child’s gift (although I’d be pretty happy if my presents arrived with the fox tags in particular).

And lastly, we have a whole heap of stationery goodies: monthly planner cards, motivational quote cards, a to-do list, a 2018 action plan, a handy pocket size fox notepad, and a kitten card – which bizarrely matches a mug Flora was given for Christmas. I guess I won’t be keeping that then.

Final thoughts

I don’t know what the retail value of all these beautiful products totals but I’ve guesstimated it’s around £45, so I think the box is amazing value.  I’m so impressed with my Woodland Adventures box, it’s every bit as lovely as Artemis & Xena’s gorgeous Unicorn box from last year.  The Unicorns have long since sold out (sob, sob) but if you’re quick you can still treat yourself to some Woodland Adventures. Let me know what your favourites are if you do!

The fox is my favourite too, I think he/she is so cute. I know the box might seem a little pricey but it’s a quarterly box so I think it works out as amazing value. I love the ethos behind the company too, I think it’s such a good thing that they want to encourage positivity – I certainly have a smile on my face every time I look at my fox plaque! xx

Hi, I love everything about this box, but the hedgehog manicure is so cute and I love the coasters they don’t look like they are made from resin.

The hedgehog manicure set is perfect in my handbag! And I love the coasters too, my favourite is the fox, Flora likes the raccoon, Alan likes the bear. They are so heavy though, they really feel like stone, I was so surprised to get them in the box! x

I can completely understand why you were so charmed by this box and couldn’t resist it, it’s gorgeous! I am very tempted to get one for myself as my Instagram has a green / woodland theme at the moment and these items would be a perfect fit for my photos! I really like how this company doesn’t tie you to a subscription and that you can purchase them as a one-off, that’s a lot more attractive to me that having to shell out for a whole year’s worth! The company ethics of supporting women’s causes is brilliant too, such a fantastic initiative!
