Some of you may remember that one of my November goals was to visit the Bath Christmas Market, which opened on 23 November. Our lovely Scottish friends were visiting, so it was the perfect excuse to go and have some more hot chocolate and Baileys, mmmmm! Warning: this post is going to be quite photo-heavy but here’s a round up of just some of my favourite stalls (as there are over 200 exhibiting this year and I couldn’t fit them all in).
Food and drink
@GinAusten – I never need an excuse to try fruit gins, although I had to wait a while due to all the yummy mummies in front of me…

More market details
I hope I’ve given you a flavour (no pun intended… oh, go on then, I’m laughing anyway) of some of the fabulous stalls at this year’s Bath Christmas Market. If you’re not planning on visiting a market in Europe this year, then Bath is a must see. Personally, I have my eye on the fairy tale Bruges Market and I’ll be checking out some of the best flight deals shortly. But in the meantime, I’ll definitely be going back again before the Bath one ends – will I see you there?

I have the same red star lantern and it’s perfect for xmas but also for all year around!! I need to get more colours!! x

You do, you do, haha! There are SO many to choose from, I’m thinking about getting another when I go back again too ? xx
I guess this will sound silly, but I didn’t realise quite how big the market was?! I would want to try all the food and drink stalls though, so I bet I’d be there forever.. ??
It wasn’t as big when it first started some years ago but this year it seems HUGE. And if you want to sample everything you’ll have to make a couple of visits, I think! ? X
Oh, this is all new to me. Looks like a great outing.
Jennifer
It really was, so much so I’m going back again later this week! 🙂
Ah Lisa I love all these photos! I”m hopefully going to a little Christmas fair / craft type thingy at my local library with my mum in 2 weeks and that would officially be my first Christmas fair. So I’m quite excited – especially to see all the home-made goodies that people are selling. I am instantly drawn to that cheese making kit…. I think my boyfriend and I would have a lot of fun with that! (And be very full afterwards too…)
Thank you, there were so many lovely stalls that it was really hard to choose which pictures to include – by the end of our visit my phone had about 4% battery left. I hope you enjoy your Christmas fair – perhaps there’ll be a cheese making kit there too, fingers crossed! x
This is such a cool post! I love all your photos – they’re so pretty. I love hearing about people’s trips to Christmas markets, I went to the York Christmas markets last weekend and they were great!
Thank you! I keep hearing really good things about the York and Harrowgate Christmas markets too, so maybe I’ll take a trip up North (!) next year 🙂
What a lovely post Lisa! Looks like you had a fab time at the markets, they’re all so festive and it’s great you got lots of photos too. I think I’d love to try the gin for sure! x.
Aw, thank you, lovely, I did, so much so I’m going back again later this week too. Hopefully I won’t have to queue so long for the gin stall this time, haha! x
Oh wow! I would spend an absolute fortune at that market…
Wait, I spend an absolute fortune at any market ?
Looks fab, thanks for sharing xx
Hahaha! I know exactly what you mean, I’m going back later this week to spend another fortune! xx
Hi, I love Bath and would no doubt spend a fortune at this market.
Haha, I’m sure you would, there are lots of teas to try 🙂
This is such a lovely post! I haven’t been to any Christmas markets yet but will have to go to my local one as well as York one soon! You can always find some good gems there.
Thank you 🙂 I’ve heard the York market is really good as well, you should definitely go and have a browse – let me know what gems you find! x
This looks beautiful! I haven’t been to any yet, I don’t think the ones around me are up yet. I love that you’ve included the details of all the companies x

Thank you – it’s a gorgeous market, I honestly think it gets better every year. And I love the fact that 80% of the stalls are local (to me) businesses so I really wanted to give them a shoutout! x
Looks fab! So jealous I travelled all the way from Carlisle to York for the Christmas market to find it was closed the day we were there !
Oh noooooooooooooooooooooo, that’s such a shame! Are there no Christmas markets closer to you? If not, I’d always recommend Bath, not that I think you need an excuse to visit anyway! x
Love the pictures. I love a good Christmas market gets you right in the festive period!!
Thank you – it was such a hard job choosing pictures, I took so many as it’s such a lovely market!
I love love love Christmas markets, as well as the food on offer being delicious, you can pick up unique little items too. This was a great read, and great pictures too!

Oh, the food on offer, don’t even get me started, haha! Yes, Christmas markets are such a great way for local businesses to showcase their products which you wouldn’t normally get to see in real life. I love the Bath market, it’s a fab one. x
I love Bath but didn’t know they had a Christmas market. It’s great you have so much knowledge of the stalls. This post has made me so excited for Xmas, thanks!
Monica @ http://www.thewongblog.com
Oh, thank you, that’s a lovely compliment! I am sooooooo excited for Christmas too now, must be something to do with the hot chocolate and Baileys, haha X
First of all I loved the beautiful pictures you have taken. Everything is so beautiful here, looks like you had so much fun. I would love to visit such markets 🙂
Thank you so much 🙂 It’s a great market, well worth a trip to Bath (if you ever needed an excuse, haha!) x
I absolutely adore Christmas markets! Everything always looks so pretty, and smells so good!
Your post has made me miss home a lot. There are no things like this where I am sadly.
Kelly
Oh, that’s such a shame you don’t have any Christmassy markets near you. They are such fun, you are absolutely right about the lovely smells. Hope I haven’t made you too homesick! x
Beautiful post! I was so hoping to get to this this year but I don’t think I will have time now as so much going on, I must get there next year! xx
Aw, that’s a shame but it is an incredibly busy time of year, I know. Do let me know if you make it down next year, we could have a blogger meet up 🙂 xx
This looks lovely! I’ve never been to bath before but this would be a good excuse to go!
Ellie x
Yes, it’s a great excuse, the market runs for another week, treat yourself and come on down! x
This has made me feel SO festive!
Ho, ho, ho! Glad you’re in the spirit! x
Yay! I love this! I was wandering around on Wednesday night. There are some beautiful finds at the Bath Christmas markets!
Claudia xo
I’m so sad I missed you, but yes, this year’s Bath Christmas market is a real gem, there are so many lovely goodies! x
200 stalls?! Oh my lord that sounds dreamy haha! I would’ve been all over that gin stall, and the jewellery you posted is lovely. But the best bit for me would be a lemongrass handcream – lemongrass is one of my favourite, desperately underrated, scents! I’m so envious haha.
Your photos are stunning, I hope you had an excellent day at the market!
Beth x
I couldn’t get near that gin stall (mind you, it wasn’t the only one there so I did get to sample some other gins!). I agree with you, lemongrass is underrated, it’s as fresh as lemon but with a spicy undertone too, I’m loving my handcream. And I had a wonderful day, so much so I went back again a week later, which is most unusual for me, normally I only visit markets once due to the crowds! x
