AD | I was lucky enough to be contacted by Katy at Chemist recently with an invitation to review one of their cosmetic products: the Keromask camouflage make up cream.* (Chemist is an online pharmacy who stock all manner of medicines, health and well-being, mum and baby, skincare, and makeup brands at discounted prices). Katy kindly sent me a voucher to purchase the make up, plus a little extra to treat myself too 🙂
What is Keromask Camouflage Make Up Used For?
Keromask is a cosmetic camouflage cream or foundation, designed to help disguise skin imperfections. These could range from acne, vitiligo, rosacea, scars, birthmarks, veins, moles, broken capillaries, dark circles under the eyes, post-operative bruising, and unwanted tattoos.
The range includes 24 shades of camouflage cream which should colour match most if not all skin tones complexions. There are also four mineral-rich finishing setting powders to set your makeup and make it waterproof, smudge proof, and heat-resistant.
Keromask should suit all skin types as it’s been dermatologically tested and is also hypoallergenic. Good news for me as my skin can sometimes react quite badly to new products. Their website also says that the products are not tested on animals and don’t contain animal derivatives either. However, Keromask should never be applied on open lesions or unhealed scar tissue. I don’t have any of those, fortunately, so on with the review.
How Do You Apply Keromask Camouflage Make Up?
Keromask creams are highly pigmented so you only need to use a tiny amount for most coverage situations. After giving my moisturiser time to sink in (Keromask needs to be applied to clean dry skin) I used my fingers to apply a light layer to my face. Although obviously you could use a foundation brush or sponges if you prefer.
Light no. 1 cream was far too light a shade so I used Light no. 5. This was also too light really, but I used my Bare Minerals powder foundation on top and it looked fine. Lastly, I dusted on a light application of the Keromask translucent finishing powder to set everything. I have a typical gardener’s red cheeks so I was really pleased with how well the Keromask cream helped to cover them up. I also found the cream worked wonders on my under eye shadows and rather red eyelids.

How Long Does Keromask Camouflage Make Up Last – Does It Work?
Never having tried a camouflage cream before I didn’t know what to expect. I found Keromask very easy to apply and it gave excellent non-cakey coverage. Far better than any other concealer I’ve tried on my red cheeks and dark under eye shadows. It lasted all day too. Which is hugely impressive because my oily T-zone normally ensures any make up has slid off by lunch time. I can’t vouch for the waterproof claim as I didn’t go swimming (!) but it was easy to wash off at the end of the day. And after wearing Keromask every day for a week, I was also pleased to find that my skin didn’t react adversely either.
Where To Buy Keromask Camouflage Make Up?
The only down side for me was the difficulty in colour matching. The products are great, but it’s just a shame if you can’t get the right shade for your skin on Chemist’s website. However, I do have a solution. Over on the main Keromask site, they offer sample kits with a selection of shades for light, medium or dark complexions. So, I’d suggest you buy one (or more) of these sample kits from there first, to see what shade suits you best. Then head back over to Chemist or to Amazon* for the discounted full sized Keromask products.
While on the Chemist website, I also treated myself to a lovely Burts Bees set, some foot warmers, and some moisturiser for my husband. A big thank you again to Katy and Chemist for the opportunity to try the Keromask products, I really was very impressed with them.

Have you ever tried any camouflage cosmetic creams or make up before? If so, what did you think? And would you be tempted to give Keromask camouflage make up a try now?

Ohhhh not heard of this brand. It’s good to get a foundation that applies easily!
I hadn’t heard of them either, but they are so nice to use and they do a great job 🙂
I have never tried any products from camouflage cosmetics so I will definitely be checking them out! Great post and I love your product photos! xx
Thank you, I really enjoyed trialling them and they are definitely worth looking into! x
I thought this was a foundation at first but it’s not is it?! This looks great and I love that they have the sample kits so you can find your perfect shade. Mine would certainly be the palest! Great post (: xxx
No, I thought it was a foundation at first too. But you could use it as a foundation with the setting powder if you wanted to, just as long as you get the right shade first! xx
This would be so handy for my acne and acne scarring. I’m actually really intrigued as the shade that was too light for you will probably be perfect for my extra pale skin, and it’s so rare I come across high coverage foundation in such a pale shade. Definitely adding this to my wishlist. Love your photos by the way!
Thank you for the photos compliment, I’ve been stalking your IG feed for flatlay tips, haha! I was very pleasantly surprised by Keromask, in fact I’m still using it now and when I run out I’ll be repurchasing 🙂 x
Never heard of this brand, but your skin looks amazing with it on! I get so much redness around my nose, and I’ve got hyper-pigmentation from spots – might need to give this a go! Great review 🙂
Thank you, that’s so kind of you! I hadn’t heard of Keromask either but I’ve been so impressed with the coverage and staying power, I’d really recommend giving them a go even if you have to shop separately for samples and full sizes. X
This brand is new to me. As for the Burts Bees, I’ve been wanting to try the oil cleanser.

I do love Burts Bees lip balms because they don’t have lanolin so it’s good for my seven year old too 🙂
Whoah this looks like a pretty decent product! Need to look into this brand – thanks for sharing Xx

It really is! I was so pleasantly surprised because I hadn’t heard of the brand before but the coverage and shade range is brilliant! X
Ohh I really like the sound of this as I suffer with redness a lot! I love that they have such an extensive shade range. I’m a ghost but that light 1 shade that was too pale for you looks like it would be perfect for me! I’ll definitely be checking this out!

A ghost ? love it! Honestly, it worked wonders on my gardening cheeks and red eyelids, nothing else has come close and I’ve tried a lot of green tinted creams. If you get one of the sample kits you can experiment and mix until you find your own shade. It’s a really good product! X
I’ve never heard of this brand before! I usually get quite nervous using camouflage creams as my skin tends to look quite cakey fairly easily. Looks like it comes in some pretty light shades though which is amazing!

I don’t think anyone I’ve spoken to has heard of the brand before either but it’s a really good one, not at all cakey (I know exactly what you mean). The shade range is huge too! X
I had never heard of Keromask before. It is a bit of shame regarding color matching but they still sound like good products!
Maybe Chemist will start stocking the sample kits in due course, I think it would make a lot of sense, haha! X
I never heard of this brand before but I will be going to have a look! I’m hoping maybe it might help cover up my psorasis patches since there is a foundation and it being applied easily! Great post Lisa x
Oh, thank you! I’m sure it would help with psoriasis, it’s a very highly pigmented product. Have a look at the main Keromask site first, they’ve got a lot of examples and videos which might help you. Also, you can buy a sample kit there first to experiment before you buy the full size products. I hope this helps! X
It really does look like a great coverage! I can’t say I’ve had to use anything other than a standard concealer, but this looks handy for those with pigmentation issues! Great little review! I love that they do their own setting powder too!

Thank you! The cream really does give great coverage and I agree, it’s so good that they offer a setting powder in a range of shades too. It’s a great package. X
I’ve never heard of this brand before, but I love a good foundation that’s easy to apply! I think it looks as though their lightest shade is very light too, which is a good thing for me, because I often find the lightest shade is still too dark for me.. ???♀️
Their lightest shade really is light, very pale indeed, haha. I’d not heard of Keromask before either but I’m very happy to have discovered them now!
Love their packaging, do they test on animals?
Beauty & Colour | Vegan Lifestyle Blog
According to Keromask’s website, “Keromask is NOT TESTED on animals and does not contain animal derivatives. Keromask is Fragrance Free and Hypo-Allergenic.” Hope this helps!
I might have to investigate this, I always find it really hard to cover my red cheeks with foundation so this looks like it might be a good investment! Thanks for sharing such an in-depth and well-written review! Also your photos are stunning 🙂

I think the cream is well worth the money, mine is going to last for ages as you only need the tiniest amount. I’m so glad the post was helpful and thank you so much for lovely comments about the pictures! X
Never heard of this brand. But it is always good to try new products. Both the shades in the picture are quite similar to me. 🙂 You take lovely photos.
I’m amazed that this brand is so under the radar. I hadn’t heard of them but I didn’t realise that so few other people had either, the creams are so good. And thank you so much for the kind comment about my photos, I really worked on them! x
I heard about this recently too and I think the idea behind it is so good! It sounds like it worked really well for you too!

Honestly, I’m so pleased to have found this brand, the products are just fab. I really do recommend them, as a great foundation with staying power, even if you don’t have anything in particular to cover up! x
