So it’s the most wonderful time of the year again! After what feels like a very busy November, this month I’m keeping my December goals fairly simple. And, surprise, surprise, they revolve around Christmas and family time, which feels absolutely right. I’m also reflecting on this year and looking forward to 2018 as well.
I honestly cannot wait for Flora to finish school and for us to all be together as a family for two whole weeks. She’s of an age now where she’s really good company and gets so excited about all sorts of things that I can’t help but get excited too (present wrapping being the exception). Among other things this Christmas, we’ll be visiting my favourite aunt, catching up with my bestie lawyer friends, and eating our body weight in chocolate. I can’t wait! Note to self: remember to leave out a mince pie and Scotch for Santa on Christmas Eve, and the glittery oats in the garden so the reindeer can find our house…
I took a deep breath after redundancy earlier this year and decided to go freelance rather than work for a company again. It felt like the right thing to do and so far, fingers crossed, it’s working out well. Freelancing means I can take time off over Christmas (albeit without being paid) and I don’t have to juggle and struggle with child care arrangements. The downside is January will be a lean month but, fingers crossed, I WILL pick up some new work in 2018.
I have fallen totally in love with blogging and everything that comes with it. I never imagined that:
(a) I would enjoy writing so much,
(b) I would learn so much (photography, SEO, social media) and,
(c) that I would get sent the occasional product to review and keep.
But, most importantly, I’ve made some truly lovely and supportive blogger friends. I’m not doing Blogmas this month, it would stress me out far too much but I’m going to try and read and comment on as many Blogmas posts as I can!
So these are my December goals, nothing too rigorous this month, just focussing on my family and friends – just as it should be, no?
What are you looking forward to this December?
